Spent the entire day getting rid of 5 leaks. two from the sunroof one each at the hatch drain and the gas tank drain. fixed the hatch and sunroof leaks by just getting the gunk out using a guitar string and compressed air.
Not so easy on the gas tank drain. the metal elbow connecting the hoses was rusted completely in half so I ordered another from Pelican.
of course, cleaned it up nice and pretty too!

Yesterday I finished putting a new balance shaft belt on the 951. When I initially put belts on the car, I tightened them way too tight. In 7k miles, it ATE the bs belt and hurt the idler and tensioner. Everthing is cool now and no more wow-wow-wow sound. On the 968 I found a vacuum leak at the AOS and fixed that. Doesn't seem to have made any difference. Washed them both and detailed the 68. I think the 10 year old neighbor kid is gonna turn out to love cars. He helped wash them, so I gave him a ride in the 68 and he was ear to ear grin eventhough he can't see over the dash. I remember those spirited rides when I was his age, staring into the dash of my uncle's GTX, and I'm sure it contributed to my passion for cars. On the downside, he thinks the 951 looks like a Nissan...

i remember my dads friend giving me a ride in a testarossa at about that age. i coudnt see over the dash when he hit the throttle and ive loved cars ever sense.
i did my first solo belt job. the car runs great and smoother than ever at full throttle, but it idles like crap and stumbles. i must have missed a vacuum line or something when i put the new head on...
she did make the 60 mile trip home without dying, overheating, or any odd sounds (other than the odd stumbles)

I have eeked out 1100 miles since last Sunday!
Over 200 of it was the day I put tags on her for the first time in a year and a half!
Good stuff though!
OH, did an oil change on Sunday... drove the **** out of her this morning on the way to work (72 miles each way to and from work!)
