Getting ready for the winter.... installed the "Pylon lift lock" (P/N 8200 Advanced Auto) to help the weak rear hatch struts (LH side-1 will suffice).
Installed the new battery and then in under 2 minutes each, hand mounted the four Craigslist found 195/65/15 snows on my old cookies... (I had a bet with someone I could do it with a breather in between, they thought you had to have a machine)....
OH and washed it too...

Yesterday for the first time in over for years, our ChumpCar 944 ran! It sat in fields for so long that among other things the speed and reference sensors, starter, and alternator all went bad. It has taken a lot of prep over the last month but to hear her finally spring back to life was wonderful.
Now, we have one week to prep for a 24 hour enduro with this beast. Should be interesting!

My odometer is sitting on exactly 99,000 miles, in my driveway. I can take a pic without having to pull over on the highway HAHA. I bought it with 64,000 miles a year and a half ago. Driving back and fourth across the country trying to keep food on the table, and a roof over my family's head has racked up a lot of miles on my car...... and I wouldn't give it up for the world. She's become my traveling friend.
Tonight, I'm going to swap my oil pressure sender, tighten my alternator belt (squeeles a tiny bit at start up) and my rennbay headlight kit came with a burned out bulb, so I ordered another one and am going to install that.
I work graveyard at my new job, so I do all the work to my car in the middle of the night lol.

I took my car the 100 miles or so to the Porsche Club Great Britain (PCGB) organised event at Porscheshop.
A few fellow owners there.

Weather was very wet on the way down but nice on the way back.
BTW: My car is the Zermatt car on the Left hand side and if you look carefully - i am the one looking at the engine with the baseball cap on !!!

Installed the new Radiator and the 82 degree C fan switch. Drove around and visited some factory steep loading docks to bleed & burp /repeat - all the while listening to SU football game...
Replaced engine temp sensor too...pinched all slip on wire terminals with needle nose. Car runs steady temp at center as was normal, but now in city stop & go the high speed fans kick in at 3/4 mark not at the start of redline of temp range. LH low speed fan at shut off working fine too.
Looking for a LH side radiator tank ( I stripped temp thread port) if anyone has a rotten or smashed early 944 (if it matters??) radiator laying around, or an LH tank....would like to use the DIY I read off here, try to do the chore & repair my old for a spare..
Pulled the timing belt cover while rad & fans out...looked well in there, no leaks, all clean and the finger twists were attempted..but no basis as she's my 1st P car...anyhow just turned 36 mo and 10k miles on this belt, pump, all wheels & seals.....it will go the winter and get belts r&r in late spring next year..

Bump......c'mon this ought to be on the 1st page every day? Like I'm the only one this weekend who changed the oil & filter to the winter blend of 5w40 Syn (CNY- ok flame away)...... put clear protective lens rock chip guard material on the front fog light lens (thanks input from others here) ,...burped the cooling system again , ummm washed it and drove the heck out of it this weekend taking the long way home from my stops?
