They're about $700 for a set without tires, so I might look into those after I sell the rims I just bought.

Today I finally got around to tightening my PS belt and it fixed my squeaking while making tight turns, but I must have over tightened it because it snapped. Driving my car blows now and I have no backup car

Dude power ratio manual racks are the way to go!!! I converted mine and its awesome!! DD in the city all day every day!

If I were you I'd try and snag some D90s. If you're lucky you might be able to hunt down a set of Club Sports. If all else fails, some late turbo dials have the potential to look pretty damn good if you paint them right. 16" tires for 7" and 8" rims still exist and are pretty inexpensive.

I'am running my 968 on 95 octane, instead of recommended 98 octane and wanted to know if the engine is knocking.
I made a simple circuit with a 555 and a LED, and conncted it to pin 19 in the diagnostic socket.
Sometimes when I press the pedal to the metal I get a blink.
I wonder if that is OK, or if the ignition angle is changed?

I guess a properly depowered rack would feel better, but this is my only car now so I have nothing to drive if I decide to tear it apart again. After driving it for a day or so I've gotten used to it so it's not so bad anymore. My steering seems more precise and responsive, but every little bump in the road yanks the wheel out of my hands unless I'm gripping the wheel super tight.

I had a set of 7" and 8" D90's and I wasn't a fan of them. Club Sports look very similar to D90's, so meh. I like phone dials, but the center of late offset phone dials stick out too much for my taste, so forget those. The Tire Rack Sport Edition Cup 4's look pretty sharp, get good reviews, are decently priced, and are pretty light. Once I sell the rims I just bought I'm gonna pickup a set with 17x7.5 front and 17x9 rear wheels with ultra super max performance summer tires.

I de-powered my rack (grease filled and removed the piston collar from the shaft) at first it was hard to steer and felt like I messed up. Then I got an alignment and new rims and tires and I can steer with just 2-3 fingers if I'm rolling 10mph+. 17x8 Front and 17x9 Rear Rims.

Turning while rolling is no problem. Turning while stationary is another story... My VW ****ed up my wrists and turning the wheel while I'm going less than 5mph hurts them like ****, so I'm going to just throw on a new belt and call it a day. Supposedly removing the power steering stuff only saves ~6 pounds so it's not worth it. I don't see a point in removing creature comforts on a street car.

It's an Alpine iDA-X305S. I got it from a friend who took it out of his E36, but I think you can get them used for around $150. New they're like $250 I think.

Finally mounted the cup wheels...after almost a month of strugle with finding the right tires, painting the wheels and balancing them together with the spacers...they are on the car. I got Conti Sport Contact 3.

The tires are indeed stretched, not exagerated but deff stretched.
225 all around feels so much better than 225 on fronts and 245 on the rears.
Even tho the tires are stretched a bit, all the wheels look the same and that looks great overall.

Too late now for pictures and the car is all dirty.
Tomorrow its oil and filters change time and then the car is ready to go anywhere i want

i'll have to sort out a photoshoot but i need to do some cleaning first.
