Took dead alternator to get rebuilt, rotor was bad and the shops supplier could only find 1 replacement rotor in the US, for $220. I bought a used low mile alternator for $100.

Hi Jinx <<<sorry had to go there
I got it from bestexhaust.com.au
I was intending to get it direct from fabspeed but their website doesn't say anything about shipping outside US and I had seen best exhaust did them a while back, so decided it was just as easy to use them(best) and I figure not that much more expensive considering any warranty would have to be honoured due to Australian law. It was around Aus$1200 shipped to my door. Direct from Fabspeed (if they do it) would be US$897 + shipping and if it came dinged up, am not sure I would have any recourse or how much hassle it would be to get rectified. Mike from Best has been great to deal with, as I ordered a day before the super storm hit Fabspeeds facility, so order was naturally delayed. NZ shouldn't be an issue to ship to

Got some parts in. Precision 46mm vband wastegate, RCI 17 gallon fuel cell, Bosch '044' fuel pump + bracket. Still waiting on the turbo to show up.
Also put the car into storage a few nights ago.

Got towed home...broke down on the way to work. Exploded CV joint and backed out bolts.
Replaced the entire assembly. I need to find bolts with holes to lockwire them...this is not the first time I've done this job on a 944.

On the way home tonight my car over heated :/ My electric water pump and fans were running correctly. I think my radiator cap/overflow tank cap failed. I will have to check more out tomorrow and see if any coolant is mixing with oil or vise verse. I might have to change my head-gasket. Which I would not mind, would allow me to make the ports in my head smaller and get some better air velocity.

Changed the radiator cap. That was defiantly the problem for why my car overheated. The old one just let out the pressure while at operating temperature. And you can't keep a car cool if it loses water. I also checked my cylinders no water or oil getting in there, the oil appears to be water free. Although I am going to change my oil this weekend to double check, and there is no oil in the coolant. The only thing now is I have an oil leak from the rear of the head gasket that drips down onto my exhaust.
So in the back of my mind I am thinking I am going to do this head-gasket change. As much as I would like to do it during my winter break I am just a tad paranoid that fluids might mix or something till then. Or that even the oil leak on the outside might get severely worse on my way to work or something. At least I am going to total the costs for most of the things I want to do while I am there
