I really didn't need that news.
Sigh.
Guess I'm putting off buying those fuchs' and buying an engine re-build kit instead.
[Edit] Yep, Compression test on Cyl#4 is about 25-30PSI Down from the rest of them.

wanted to install new licence plate holders on my red 931...but found out that my blue 932 was "vandalized" by a little boy in our neighbourhood. The car is dusty and obscene words were drawn on it.
His mother is a tough bitch when her son is blamed for stuff like this...so i installed a camouflaged motion detection/recording system to get the little bastard on camera

Thanks dude!
First day was great, I was able to work out some lines and looking forward to tomorrow.
Plenty of beautiful Porsches, including a 993 turbo and A couple long hoods as well. Not to mention 2 GT3's and several water pumper 911's. I did have the only 944 though!

Yesterday, I adjusted the parking brake, and re-seated the pads in the front.
Today, I replaced the driver's side window regulator. No more using a suction cup to keep the window up.
Not sure what the next fix will be. Got a bit more to do....

Well so much for the common wisdom that if there is a leak from the oil cooler housing / engine block interface to the outside world on a NA 944 that it will be water!!!After much searching for this oil leak and reading on this mater, changing our the lower bal shaft seals twice, I changed the oil cooler gasket this past Sat. A real PITA job for sure but the oil leak is gone. Pretty tight area to work in, messy, but worth it, this leak was driving me insane!!! One trick I did come up with when reinstalling the cooler concerns holding the 4 bolts and gasket in place as you position the oil cooler into place. I inserted the bolts into the cooler housing holes , placed the gasket into it place inside the cooler housing using the bolts to hold it in place and then wrapped black elect tape around the entire housing covering the hex's on each bolt. This way you can wiggle this thing into the correct position without having the gasket and bolts repeatly fall out. 7 hrs total time.
