Last night I put my new hatch seal on, and it was perfect. Even popped up when I hit the release button inside, which hasn't happened since I've had the car. I though about not messing with the pins, but I figured, why not, I've got them? There is no longer any distinction between the pins and the mounting hole, both sides are totally fused. I managed to ruin the driver's side. I rigged something up that I thought would work. Now I can't get the driver's side to pop. I am going to have to see if I can manually pop it from inside. I should have just left the damn thing alone. I do have a couple other cars to pull parts from, but I think my invention may have done damage to the surrounding area. I knew I should have been content with it just working and being sealed up. Damn. Good news is there is no more exhaust smell in the cabin, I should no longer get headaches and smell like exhaust after long drives.

Today I replaced the hatch lock seal. It started to feel sticky so I thought the rubber was going bad. It came out in about 50 little pieces. Good as new now

I washed and waxed the Black 944. Now I understand why it costs about $75.00 more to have a Black car detailed over any other color. The spots you missed keep multiplying.

The lock button on the passenger side pulled up easy so i thought the dog bone was broken. I took the door apart, and found that the outer sleeve with the diode was loose, I epoxied it in place. I figured since I was there, I might as well replace the dog bone so I did.
I also remembered that the driver side door wasn't unlocking the passenger side with the key, I took the door apart, removed the handle and found out that the little switch that is operated by the key lock was cracked, I custom fabricated a new bracket that holds down the switch wire and applies pressure to the switch body and now it works. I also found the barrel pin that holds the lever that actually opens the door fell out. I replaced it with a new one and adjusted the barrel screw so the door now opens easier. The little parts in there are hard to align, but with a long screwdriver and a magnet pick-up tool I was able to align things and pop them in place.
I also finished up the sound system installation by fabricating a faceplate for the equalizer and installing it. I looks so much better now. All I need to do now is troubleshoot a ground loop. It's between the radio and the eq. I hope a simple filter will work.

The cobbled floor is hell to do any work on. Can't jack anything properly and don't even think about jack stands. Traps dirt like nobody's business and floods too. Going to concrete the whole thing in a few weeks I think. Kind of a shame too, since it's well over 150 years old, but sacrifices must be made!

dont do it! your right about sacrifices, so just pony up and deal I have to on occasion work in a gravel drive, so i dont wanna hear about your smooth cobble stone LOL
to stay on topic, i cut a burnt/melted section of windsheild washer hose, and connected the 2 good sections with a brass connector, and made a shift pattern type plug for my wooden shift ****

Did my 1,000 inspection on my timing belt/BS belt, all good there. Putting back the PS belt, I found the PS pump mounting bolts really loose. Putting back the A/C/alternator belt, I found the front compressor mounting bolt GONE!
Also replaced the bulbs in my driving lights, and one of my side marker lights.
If it quits blowing, I'll give it a nice bath.
