When you put the DME back on the metal frame the wire harness should be on top.

alright,that dose help!...it should be facing to the front,i think,and the long corner goes on the top right side?

Another idea. The 16 valve cars have a hall sensor right behind the upper timing belt pulley. Make sure that is bolted back in properly and the connector is plugged in correctly. That can probably cause spark problems as well.

the plastic around that connector broke apart..so i am not sure which was it plugs in but i tried both sides..

also where dose that cable with a metal peace and hole in it screw on the DME frame?

If you need a spare DME i have a late model DME but it's not for an S. If it will work and you need something to check with I'll ship it to you but you gotta promise to ship it back.

i dont know if that would work..i would send it back and ill pay shipping to me too..

i talked to the porsche people about what they did and this and that..at least they adjusted my belt,it was off by a bit..

can someone sell me a used DME relay for $15?

the top one look in good condition wen i pulled it out..the other one looked a little dark and felt ruff..

--cant' see the 'bottom' one too well. Is it connected to a harness? Maybe it's just a plug to fill the whole? Cant' remember - haven't been in there for a while. But I am certain there is only one combination sensor used for the S that generates both signals (gets ref from a notch in the speed 'gear')
