whatever you do no more dealer.....most of the guys at the dealership haven't worked on 944s, because they came out so long ago and the warranties ran out a long time ago as well. So don't trust a dealer with them.

An independent Porsche shop will be much more knowledgeable. Don't do any more yourself just located a shop and bring it in, and end your headache. Don't part the poor thing.

I know there's guys on here from PA and they'll recommend a shop.... start a new thread asking about an independent shop in that area. Speed and Refrence sensor replacement is pretty simple and shouldn't cost you that much.

You have a car with 52,000 miles, you're very lucky, you should really try and keep it and sell it, I'm sure you will get $7,000 for it working. You won't make $7,000 parting it. The head and cams will sell for $1,000, maybe $1500. The transmission maybe $350. The block is a regular 2.5 and won't fetch that much. Suspension won't get you much, and the rest of the engine parts aren't that valuable.

Definitely try and fix it....also, I wouldn't plan on trading for a high mileage turbo...if you can't handle the mantainence of a 55k N/A car, you definitely won't be able to keep up with a high mileage turbo.

i understand your anger and your impatience. i bet i am the 100th person to tell you to chill, but that what you must do. i can sense a sort of anger, and sadness here in your posts and i bet you have had it up to here on that car that you just want to get rid of it, which you might do lol.

but dont make any descisions when you are madd. the only desciscion to make when your madd is what to hit with your breaker bar(s).

just try to relax, and think what your doing here. as everyone has said, you have an amazing car, so your very lucky. and you surely dont want to lose 7gs, no one does. just park it somewhere where it is out of sight, out of mind, and go inside, watch tv, cook food, do something else that you enjoy besides your 944. take your mind off of it and regroup and just literally relax.

idk if my words help but i felt the same way too about my car at times. the frustration builds and builds until it explodes. just take my little bit of advice and dont make descsions when your madd. and plus you wont be able to sell the parts anyway because your not a member =P lol i kidd

AND DONT GO TO THAT PORSCHE DEALER AGAIN. GO BACK THERE ONLY IF THEY OFFER TO GIVE YOU A 911 TURBO FOR DRAINING YOUR OIL AND GIVING YOU AN UNWANTED COMPRESSION TEST !!!!!!

I'm sure you can get more for it running than parting it out. Especially on a nice looking, low mileage car like that. The sensors we're talking about are about $100 each and it could be you simply have the electrical connectors mixed up. I agree with the others that the dealer probably doesn't have a competent mechanic for an old 944. Better to chill for a while and come back to it later if you can afford to.

Yeah OVERBOOST has an S tranny on here listed for $350 and it hasn't sold, it's been a month or more I think. Save the money and have it fixed....the sensors are a piece of cake for a shop to put in. You have a great car, you're very lucky to have a 944 with 52,000 miles.

Start a new thread title "Need reputable repair shop near Carlisle PA" or "in PA". I know there's a bunch of PA guys on here and they'll know where to go. Someone may even come over and help you out....hell if you were closer I'd be there in a heartbeat for free if it meant saving a nice 944 like yours.

What type of steering wheel is that? How much did you get it for?
