Nah. If you think it's logical, then you own a MkII Golf.

"if you wake up at 11 at night and take your car out for a drive, just because..."

OH MY GOD !!! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE.

i went to ihop with wifey the other night. in less than 1 hour about 30 people had stopped and stood around my highly-modded, 968 wondering what the hell it was.

I often wonder what you guys are driving. I havent had nearly the problems that you guys talk about. I have had mine since new and with routine maintance mine hasnt posed many problems. I did have mine parked and in storage from time to time and only have 70k miles on it. So its still like new. I loved my car the day I got it and it is still a joy to drive. I assume we all love our 944, thats why we are all here.

You should sweet talk them, take them out for auto spa treatments and love them.

You've used the expression "It's not how fast you go, but how you go fast"....more often than you care to admit! :-)

If you love cars that have originally been built by VW, Audi, Bosch, ZF, and think you are a Porsche purist.

Your oil cooler seals have gone out and you don't even flinch when 10 quarts of green hell comes out of your oil pan in the aftermath.

You harbor secret plans to supercharge your car so camrys can't out run you from a light...

-If you catch up to any other P-car that's not front engine just to look at it and hope they might acknowledge you......but don't.
-Your friends tell other people what kind of car you drive as if they might "be cool" cause their friend drives a Porsche.
-Your girlfriend's parents make you park the front of your car in the grass cause it "leaves spots on the driveway."
-Your friends and gf always send pictures of every other Porsche they see.
-You feel like you know every other person that drives a 944.
-You can't explain to anyone what rennlist is.
-You spend as much time if not more on rennlist, ebay, and craigslist looking for parts as you do with your friends.
-People are always asking "Is that an old Z or a Mazda?"
-You turn your radio up just so you cant hear all the noises your car is making.

When odometer gears can qualify as routine maintenance.

When you've been told more times than you can count that that is the only car they have ever seen with a ebrake there

- you're left with a pitless feeling in your stomach because your gas gauge reads E for 3 days striaght but no light, unsure weather the gauge is broke or the light is...with a 75mile trip ahead of you

- you laugh when someone talks about a $75 tune up on they're car

- what upgrades do i get next?

- being unwilling to get rid of it, even when you have another more powerful, equally fun car waiting for you

- when you lose to a toyota camry(not with a stuck pedal) you think, i shoulda gotten the 89 951

as for the guy who asked what 944's we bought, i bought one that costs 3k...as seen in my avatar. give a 20yr old a porsche though...**** happens. my car is still awsome, still as many smiles as when i bought it 3yrs ago. i wash it every week...me, not some auto wash down the street. my signiture says it all

These 2 are completely true for me.

Every time I see another 944, I race to catch up to it, and flag down the driver just to wave. They always look at me as if I have lost my mind..... I have.

On the off chance I get to talk to another 944 owner, I tell them about RL, and they just don't get it. Again, they look at me as if I have lost my mind....I have.
