If you have a tough time explaining to your friends why you've put hundreds of hours and dollars into a car that has 140something bhp.

If the car that you've been driving for years, runs great and will wreck most of your friends cars(except my friend with the evo) is still your project car

Anything else has been said already haha

If you spend 2 days replacing the Belts/hoses/water pump and you say, you know that really wasn't that bad. Meanwhile you just spent 12 man hours and your weekend is gone.

If everywhere you go, some chump in a GTI has to do a fly-by on you, to show that they are better than your Porsche.

You visit your relatives on England and end up scouring the UK breakers yards for 944 Euro bumpers and Euro Pistons.

You take a trip to the Porsche museum and spend an hour looking over the 924 Carerra GTS and 968 Turbo.

You brag to everyone about what a great deal you got on your car, but will NEVER reveal how much you've spent on it.

You've had multple annoying neighbors ask "you're not done yet?" as you're wrenching away.

If people who know nothing about cars ask "Is that a Ferrari or something"

If you go to a car show and walk past a $100k super car to look at a 951

If you have to keep explaining to people that you've had to put more money than that into it when they ask how much it cost you.

If you think your car handles really well, meanwhile you have 20+ year old shocks.

If you bought a car not knowing how to change spark plugs and can now rebuild an engine.

If you embarrass 911 owners at autox events

If you lock your glovebox because your friends keep opening it and the door falls off every time.

If people are surprised when you tell them how old your car is.

If you have to open one window then take the switch off and open the other.

- You spend all day wondering which oil leak is new
- spending all afternoon wondering where that bit of oil came from
- realising you spend more time fixing the 944 then driving it
- after spending 6k on mods, theres always more to add
- taking your friends friend for a drive then saying "F$%K i didn't know it was THAT fast"
Getting asked:
- Is that a v6?
- Is that a v8?
- Why is your engine at the front?
- why is your gear box at the back?

If you consider removing every "luxury" the factory put in to "improve" the car and make money by selling them to another guy who is adding them to a car that never had them to "improve" the car.

If your wheels are worth half of what the rest of the car is worth.

If you think that underseal is too heavy.

If you consider learning how to do the job as something you will have achieved by the time the job is done.

If you still have a 3 year plan of work, but the car is in perfect working order.

1. You routinely look in the rear view to measure the oil spots from where you were parked...
more than normal quantity this time? ( with F&B gasket seals replaced just last year)

2. You check your oil level more than 4 times weekly.

Still rather drive the Porsche over the new SUV.
