Default "FS: 968 Rear Bridge Spoiler", Rennlister screw job

I've enjoyed many great transactions with Rennlisters but this one with Jason <aka. royalschwarz> is a real butt humper.

Original sale.

What was "Overall in excellent shape but does have a few scratches from being stored." turned into a busted up drivers side leading tip, and what looks like to be a crack on the underside emminating from the trailing edge. This is supported by the overspray on adhesive foil p/n 944 512 613 00 and a run in the paint on the underside.

There was NO debris in the shipping material, indicating the damage was prior to shipment.

Let's also keep in mind that the trust between listers precluded me inspecting this piece upon arrival! The packaging was intact and considering I didn't have the other parts to complete the 968 hatch assembly, I left it protected for storage.

You be the judge...

Great pic Jason, how does that turn into this?

BTW, post a pic of the hand numbered underside... Also, what happened to the scuff through the paint all the way down to the spoiler material on the topside of the pass side leading tip that is painted over on mine...

UPS will say it was not packaged correctly based on that picture. Hope you guys get this worked out.

Just look at the packaging. The crack is fully explained by the completely exposed tips of the spoiler.

Blame UPS. And try to get a buck or two out of them...either way just get it fiberglassed or something to fix it.

UPS does like to throw boxes so I can see how that would have happened during shipping packed like that. It most likely went something like... ::Que Dream Sequence::

UPS guy 1: Hey Bob, that part looks fragile. I bet you can't hit it from 20' with this 25 lb box.

UPS guy 2: Yep, you got yourself a bet George. Give'er here.

I don't mean to step on any toes, but the packaging was very poor. I'm sorry guys, that's my opinion. I would have done a much better job of protecting the tips of the wing. PorscheG96 sent me a 968 wing and it arrived without any damage.. so it can be done...

As to the overspray, I'd think that should have been made obvious by photos, or by written explaination before the sale.

Anyways, Kevin, how much do you want for the spoiler? I could totally use it if you want ot get rid of it.

Yeah, so you can raise all of our shipping costs.

I've heard of shipping damages on items that I shipped (IMO, solid packaging), and I offer a partial refund. Maybe that's what needs to happen.

I do know that I'll be photographing every box I ship from now on.

I have cancelled the claim on this that I just put through not 3 hours ago. I'm done. If Kevin wants to put it through then so be it. Obviously some people can't be pleased.

As far as shipping it the way it was, it was shipped in the same manner it was shipped to me. All 4 968 spoilers I have had shipped to me have been packaged the way I did so and never once were they damaged because of it. Who knew?

I tried to make right and some people just don't want it. I will NOT insure a package for more than what was paid for the item and I will NOT imply replacementinsured value is what the dealer wants for a part. I should have listened to others when I was warned about certain members. So long!

I am sorry to say but your reaction shows that you are nothing more than a inmature punk, stand up behind your sale don't be a crook or a coward, refund what is due. The packaging was poor, you are at fault.

Ummm, common sense? C'mon dude, use your brain and think like a delivery guy. If it seems quite plausible that something might break, your packaging sucks!

Royal, Refund him his money and let this be a simple lesson to you.

Also FWIW ibkevin, I would have taken it up w/ royalschwartz via PM's to get this sorted out simply outta courtesy. Then, if you still can't get thru, you call out the big guns.

ups just killed a set of litroinic lights for my boxster, i have you beat...the guy i bought them from did not insure them at all...that is right at all...so i get 100 out of the $1500 they cost. fortunaetly I DO know someone at ups and they will be covered...check this out...I think Royal could have done a better job of packing, but that is not what hurt those...they were damaged by UPS and their poor handling.
check out the foot pring on the box on my lights...about 10" from the fragile sticker
