I think most people expect good packaging when an price is quoted shipped.
no, not really, continue

That's assuming they won't just assimilate the worst of both worlds!

I think the lesson here is to insure anything above a certain value. Certainly for easily-scratched body panels worth well over a grand I'd have done so (it would've cost what, ten bucks, twenty?).
Another lesson is to pack well. Very well. Maybe get the courier people to say it's okay so it's their butt on the line rather than yours.
This sucks mightily, dude(s). What was the end result? Maybe split the cost of repair?

UPS lost 4 wheels with tires being sent from VA to NYC about two years ago. All four were shipped together, albeit labeled as separate packages. Two wheels made it to me in about 5 days. One wheel was delivered two days later after i called my local distribution center, the other wheel ended up in Kansas for some reason. I filed a claim with UPS and it took about two months to get the other wheel that ended up in Kansas. Im not sure how UPS could have redirected one of four wheels, packaged together (it was very obvious these were wheels and tires) to a completely different state. I mean i would think it was fairly obvious all four were going to the same location.
Other than this, i have never had problems with either FedEx or UPS. Both of which i use very often. My favorite carrier is still USPS, mainly because they are alot cheaper with the smaller packages. I stopped going to FedEx because my car grounds out on the entrance apron into the parking lot ... . I also try not to use UPS that much anymore because every time i ship something through the UPS Store by me, i feel like i am getting shafted on the shipping price (its always more than the quoted amount).
