Yeah, the interview actually stemmed from me asking one of their engineers about the dual BB turbos and our cars. I'm certainly going to try and pull some strings on a GT3071R for myself, but I doubt I'll be able to get much more than one or two at discounted rates, if any at all.

Is there anybody going to 944 fest with manual steering? If so, would it b possible for me to bum a 'test drive' at some point? Nothing serious, but just want to know what it feels like (for a possible conversion).

Scott, I have manual steering on my 83' Callaway. You are more than welcome to take it for a spin. It might seem a bit tougher (than normal) due the 235's I have up front and a smaller diameter steering wheel though.

A good thread just started in the Racing/Driver Ed forum entitled "Track Tips." I'm sure a lot of excellent information will be posted in the coming days regarding tips for first-timers at the track. If 944Fest will be your first time on a track, you might want to keep an eye on the above mentioned thread.

Dan, not sure if you or anyone would know this but since many of us have not been there before plus we are racing, is there a place to get fuel there or just 5 mins away? I am just tring to plan on either coming with a full tank of fuel or anywhere close that has racing fuel to run a mix.

Mike and everyone else.. Come with a full tank!!! There really isn't a lot of 'civilization' anywhere very close. There is a BP about 3 miles away, but other things such as fast food are even farther. I don't know of anyone who pumps racing gas nearby. I may have a few cans of xylene (rocket fuel) on hand if anyone wants to try a mix. Now that I mention it, maybe we should do a dyno experiment with Xylene!!

Awesome. That sounds reasonably close to what I'll end up with (225 slicks w/ a slightly (20mm) undersized steering wheel).

It may have already been answered...but what are the conditions for camping? Will we be able to camp thursday night, or just friday night? Also, is there anything available in the way of showers in the AM?

I'm getting excited!!!!! Started packing my bags. 4 days till I fly out to Denver.
Dan
I have some more goodies already packed for your gift shop. It will include a pack of the whole range of Magic Wash products including the Premium chamois.

I think the sleepybye bit on Saturday is a great idea as well!!!!!!!!!

I will be there on Thursday evening unless I get really lost . Just follow I70 from Denver to Cleveland?

Travis
Dont forget my sunroof rubber.

I'll buy a throwaway prepaid phone in Denver and post the number here. To call me on my Aus phone, even when in the states, is an international call?

Is anybody gunna meet up with me along the way and convoy with a rented Ford or Hyundai??

See all you guys in 10 days time.

Beeg's committment to this event is amazing.

Yes, arrive anytime after 5 pm Thursday. Thursday is setup, so don't expect anything fancy except maybe a beer for those who help set up (and it starts....)
Camp out thurs night with the rest of us. Showers and restrooms nearby.

Something tells me Thurs night could be the most fun!

OH, I don't think so Dan, I would have to say that Friday night will be the best after those 40 of us racing coming down from our high, those who saw their cars redline plus those hearing and watching all us. Then kick back with a couple of beers, mmm, now that is a GREAT day!!

Mike, I know it SOUNDS Like Friday night will be the best, but often that can be deceiveing.

In the past, the "night before" parties were a smaller, core group if you will, and we all were still full of energy and enthusiasm. From the host's perspective, Friday night the place will be seething with guests who need attention, folks I have not met yet, and a pile of problems to be solved. Hopefully the ambulance will still be in the same tire ruts it left when it parked Friday AM, and the Nelson Duputy has not been disturbed from his normal rounds. Don't get me wrong, Friday will be awesome, but on Thurs I probably will still think all is right in the world.

I'm looking forward to finding out. Mike, are you coming Thursday?
