Hey Julie, my temp needle sometimes gives faulty readings. I have to smack the dash lightly to get it to read correctly. Also, you're in California too, ever thought about getting an 83C-88C low temperature fan switch? I have one in mine along with a thermostat and haven't had any issues with cooling since (except now because my water pump is acting up too).

I had a similar problem with a sticky voltmeter on the 951 so I bought a spare cluster and scavenged the voltmeter from it. It's been nuts-on ever since (even cross-checked with multimeter). Anyway if I can make it and if you're going to be around, I can drag along what's left of the cluster and if you need the water temp. gauge you're welcome to it.

I remember you saying that the battery was new(ish), so thats probably not it. If you have a chance goto an AutoZone and have them check out the charging. This will eliminate something to troubleshoot this weekend. Could be the DME relay, plugs... etc ...

As far as getting up to 3/4 temp, That may be due to only water being in the lines. Maybe drain some and put in some coolant ( alluminium friendly ) and that may take care of it. It may need a flush, cuz of all that crap floatin in the tank.

@ Eyal, We didn't put on the pump as the leak was fixed @ the hose.

I'm still hoping to make it Sunday
(20% chance I'll be there)
(80% chance I won't )

plus I would like to get a few more things back on the HIVE to show Y'all ( Topographical GPS ) ( Infared Camera ) plus others.

@ Stig - " Smack dash lightly " ?? it's called " gently manipulate "

Don

Yes, already discussed so, we're having a special getogether for ya, Mate!

We put a low temp switch in her, 2 years ago.

As for my car - she did the heat up BEFORE the coolant leakage, started this 6 months ago pissing me off. Didn't do it before that.

Now there IS some sort of transient electrical issue I haven't been able to track down - fans not turning off, etc.

Maybe ignition switch replacement will fix it too?

I'm just getting irritated...bad girl, Kijo, bad girl!

Talking Hey, when we get the Specs done...

we have room for our 928 friends?

I've been running into those out here in S. CA that are interested in hanging with us at the track, and after all, they ARE our big brothers.

What do you all think?

I think it would be cool, the more the merrier, and wonder if we shouldn't invite each other to our functions before that?

Wink 9/04 work, work, work...bearings, struts!?

I made a new friend at the dealership - he's got a Shark, and we talked about track safety, etc. But then he had to get back to work, drat it, lol. BUT he's very, very understanding about the 944 and racing, and the 928s. YEAH!!

I think it would be cool to have a united force in spirit and in reality.

The Parts Manager who's been so nice to me (Another Shark owner!) - the REASON I've always gone back to this dealership - they actually offered to put a NEW engine into my boyfriend's Toyota for under $2,000! He was able to get it off the freeway, into their driveway. Also, my boyfriend's bane, lol - got me wanting another 944, and he hasn't stopped hearing about it ever since.

I'll invite shark guy to Sunday, since we'll probably do more socializing and track talk! He's cool, and FEW people can calm me down when I'm pissed, heheh. I swear, it's only another Porsche owner, who knows how to distract me with shop talk, and other Exotic cars!

I'll try and get my car running again on my own - um, first time for everything, eh? Just going over Hayne's Manual & Clark's Garage.

**Um, used strut or something for my right front, so I can DRIVE her without feeling like she's going to toss me into another lane over 70? What was it the guy at Goodyear said, "shocks & shock struts keep the wheels ON the road." Would be NICE to actually keep up with traffic, instead of impeding it - just ask Don, LMAO.

Cheap new struts are better than worn out leaked empty good brand ones. Get KYB just the insert for about $100 a pair including shipping at

http://www.performancepartswholesale...7&skipped=true

As far as 928 owners are concerned, my friend Paul has owned his 928 S4 for the last 14 years after we went out to Houston to drive it back. He just didn't drive that car over the times he came over.

Thumbs up

I'm happy to report, using MichellJD's WG install approach, my buger is in and plays very nicely with the Profec. I did manage to dodge the dreded blown HG when one of the IC pipe couplers blew off

I'll get a tool bag, , and some BBQ goodies together for Sunday!!

Is it too soon to get a head count??

Thumbs up Count me in

Count me in!

I'm having full blown Fibromyalgia Syndrome Relapse, but I'm coming anyway. Just have to take a nap like I did Sunday *sigh*.

Thanks, Frank - I better get those, just sick of the front end bouncing like that, potentially dangerous.
