Did I miss the post where you talked about HP and TQ? Any ideas what your 4K will get you in terms of output?

We are using a C2 blower from ATI Procharger. The head unit alone retails for $2500!!!! It has a billet compressor wheel which is carved on a 7 axis CNC.It is self contained which makes removal very easy:^) It also has a CARB number stamped on it which could help you with the smog *****.

Another thing that should be taken into consideration with our kit is that we include a mass-flow conversion for the 944 in order to provide the appropriate fuel enrichment. We could have burnt a custpm chip and kept the AFM but the stock barn door seemed like such a huge restriction on the 3.5" inlet of this blower.Besides that the included P1SC laptop programmable digital controller allows the end user to make adjustments if they ever want to change something or want to run more boost. It has datalogging capablities, real time monitioring of pressure and rpms and all sorts of cool features.

To summarize......you can buy an exhaust, header, cam, upgrade your ignition system and DME chip and everything else imaginable but you will never drive a 944 as fast as an SFR supercharged 944!
TTim,
Just a couple of questions, Out put from your system in HP and TQ?
How much? (group buy)

How about the red-headed step child in the 944 family - the 16V 2.5 S?

I guess this is why people opt for hybrid - hp/$$. For that kind of money you can have a very serious chevy powered 944. Ask me how I know....

This significantly increases the difficulty of fitment.

I still seems expensive to make a ls1 really powerful:

why not make the SC fit directly on top of the head of the engine? (really short intake)

944J- That would be the way to do it. But as Carl learned (told him so) there is no demand. I think the LS-1 would be the way to go.

but I dont know anything about ls1 engines...

With an ls1 I would like to know what do you have to do to get 300whp, then 400whp, then 500whp, then 600whp?

For the 944na. I think the best bet is to get a stock 86 turbo engine and put on a twin screw SC with an intercooler. It can't be that hard to make the intake can it? I mean your making the whole conversion kit with the ls1...

Why a turbo motor? If you did that you might as well just slap a new turbo on, turn the boost up and make more power than the SC will.

Again, did I miss the post that talks about RWHP est?

Matt- From the graphs I've seen for a blown 2.5 8v, the rwhp is anywhere from 185-200.

A turbo is just a exhaust poewered supercharger with lag. Just turn up the boost on a SC too. Kenne Bell has twin screw super chargers that go beyond 24psi with no lag and low top end heat. The benefit of using a turbo motor is that they are pretty cheap, low compression, fit in the car, and you get a better power curve than with a turbo for most usage. (just my theory, but porsche tested it out and came up with the same conclusion.)
