Porsche Genesis: I ended up behind a 944 on my way to college back in 04. I was amazed that a car's *** could look that good and promptly started doing research
By 06, I had purchased Serge944's 84. Unfortunately, I then moved to washington and had to leave the car behind, only driving it when I came back for vacation each year.
Finally I'd had enough of the rain, and moved back to Tahoe. Fast forward about another year, and I get another 944; a super rare Guards Red 86
Finding Rennlist: I cant remember!

Genesis: stumbled upon 944hybrids board one day, decided that a V8 944 was my dream car. When I had to get a car to get to work I got an '86 N/A 944, and don't plan on going the V8 route anymore because I now understand why people love porsches as they are. But if I ever end up with excess cash and a busted turbo...

Porsche Genesis: My dad used to own an early 80s 924 that he bought in the late 80s and kept until 1991. He bought me when I was young alot of toy cars (which just so happened to be Porsches.)
one day a friend of mine was telling me about how a local used car lot had abright red ferrari on their lot. I was driving past there with my dad and showed it to him. He instantly recognized it as an old 924. I loved the look of that car, altough it was out of my price range ($5000 Which I now know was probably overpriced anyway) I would gaze at it as I drove past every day. One day it was gone, I was kinda sad but, then I started browsing ebay for them and 944s and 928s too. I had saved up some money from working in the summer, but it wasn't enough for any of those cars and my parents were trying to get me to get a honda or something that was more practical and reliable. one day I stumbled upon a 1987 burgundy 944 automatic on ebay only 5 miles away. As a favor for braking something of mine, my dad agreed to take me over there and let me see it. When we went, I immediatly fell in love, and knew somehow I would have to end up buying that car. He checked it out mechanically and found no major problems. Came home and I was able to convince him and my mom that it was a good idea to buy it. my mom loaned me the money so I could, and I did. I bid for it on ebay the following day, there were 24 hrs left on the auction. However I didn't win. The day after the auction ended and I thought that it was just not ment to be, I got a phone call from the dealer during math class. I quickly left class to "go to the bathroom" where I answered it. He said that the winner was an old guy from florida who said there was no way he would be able to buy it. so the dealer offered it up to me. I said that I still wanted to buy it, so I came and bought it the next day. Sorry for the long story, but I think its a good one.
Rennlist: I've been a member of the 944online forums for a long time, and there really great, But have often came upon rennlist, for help with various problems that I've had, lurked around for a while and finally made a profile.

Age: 26
Occupation: recently added to our nations growing unemployeed, but previous was a sales man and mechanic
Education: bloody knuckles since i first grabbed a wrench at 10 and also a high school grad
Non-Porsche Hobbies: i like to party, solve problems, build things, and train in MMA(mixed martial arts)
Porsche genesis: i've been a porsche fan since i was a kid, but coming from a Ford family i was forced into believing American was the only way to go. after building several cars ranging from a 65 Falcon, multiple mini trucks, and more Mustangs than i can remember- i sought a new project for which i always wanted but didn't seem i could afford(a Porsche). After 3 months of looking for a 928 or 951 i almost gave up hope, thats when she came into my life. My 83 N/A 944. not exactly what i was looking for but it was love at 1st site. she had been sitting for several years and needed some love- so i through out a ridiculous offer and the guys wife said she'd rather i take it then have some guy part it out for a profit. Now i've spent almost every available penny and free hour working on her and i couldnt ask for more. well maybe a turbo.
Rennlist: met a kid out at the Porsche recycler that had built a beautiful S3 of a wrecked 968 and blown 951. if your out there- then thanks man, i love this site

Hi guys, I'm Chris
Pushing 52
I have a small team of buyers that purchase high speed packaging machinery and engineering services
Engineer/MBA
Son brought home a Craigslist 944 2 years ago, lowered, sportseats, $1600
Then I got tangled-up with rescuing 928's. 3 we rotate driving, 4th is in tranny surgery in the basement.
Today, dragged home an 83 944 that needs some TLC.
Its a sickness and I've got it. Gotta love 80's Porsches.

Hello all, My name is Larry, but everyone calls me Grandpa.
I am 69 and still going strong.
I am fully retired now for 7 years.
I served 20 years in the US Air Force, Flew C-7A's in Vietnam 66-67 and landed in every dirt strip that was the length of a football field. Not the best time of my life but what the heck. No Guts No Glory as the saying goes. Worked Civil Service for 22 years as an Instructor on C-130, C-141, F-15 and C-5 aircraft.
Raised Arabian Horses for 20 years and now have 7 Quarter Horses. I guess you could say they are one of my hobbies. They are like potato chips, just can't have one. My
other hobby is my 85.5 944 n/a. Love the car and it keeps me busy. I blame my son-in-law for it as he has one and got me hooked.
I'm happy to be a senior member and part of a great group of people on here.
Cheers,
Larry
