Only got my 85/2 NA up to 110mph before I ran out of road.
I did get a VW Jetta up to 235Kph in Germany. Pegged the speedo. Thought that was kind of fast. By the way just how fast is that in real miles??

Um, maybe I'm a bit lost (misplaced, really). Did this thread just switch to favorite ice cream flavors?? Or are y'all just going for 22+ pages?? Someone PM me, please.
BTW, French Vanilla; with chocolate syrup.

FWIW, bike speedos tend to be insanely optimistic. I seem to remember a manufacturers (of green colored bikes) claiming they hit 200 with a street bike and they when they tried to verify it was much closer to 180, 186 I believe. I dont doubt the bike would do 160 but I find 170 a little tough to fathom. By the way you guys have one of two things 1. very tiny brains 2. VERY large brass *****. There is way too much wrong with american roadways to take a bike to 150+. I usually find the headshake so bad after 135 that I backout of it. Roads just suck for that kind of stuff here.

Can't resist. Beer Burner those photos are fantastic.
I once drove very fast in a car but I can't remember the make, model,
modifications, year, or top speed, but suffice to say VERY fast.

Manning,
It's not the real deal unfortunatley. It's replica I'm restoring. Seeing as how I will probably never have a chance to afford the original or the upcoming Ford GT, I'll have to settle for my little look alike tribute. My sig used to say "GT40 wannabe", I changed it to see how long it would take for someone to call Bull S#!%. I guess it's time to change it now that my little Easter egg has been found.

Normally a steering damper on a bike will take care of the tankslapper problem. On asphalt roads where its smooth, 125 mph feels like you are flying at that speed and not feel much in terms of bumps at all. flick the wrist and you are at 150 in a hurry but keeping it at that speed is risky to say the least. That was about 15 years ago when I had the invincibility complex though. Still, any speed on a bike can be fatal.
