Is it just me or are his posts becoming clearer? It also looks like his spelling has improved, or maybe he's started using the spell check.

Which is it, is Nex "cleaning up his act," or is his "act" wearing thin?

Maybe my math is off, but that's a BIG damn gain for a little cold air intake and an atrociously BIG over-bore.
You raise a couple good points, to get that kind of power major headwork would be needed, but the 944 head is much newer technology than a smallblock chevy and I really doubt that there's close to that kind of improvement to be found there. Earlier, I took the "bigger pistons" claim to mean more compression (I think he specified higher CR at some point), later he claimed 29.33%bigger. If that means bore than he's gone from 100mm, past the standard overbore (100.5mm), all the way to 129.33mm. Yes, the 944 is a "wet-liner" block, you would need to remove the entire existing cylinder and put in some massive sleeves and there just isn't room in the block for 4 sleeves that size. Anderson Motorworks and a few others are doing 3.1 & 3.2 l. motors this way but they are using 3l cranks so they get most of the displacement from the increased stroke, I think the bore stays under 110mm.

actually that was at about 105. and thats almost the exact words i was screaming to you (you can ask Pat who was my co driver on that run!).

i hit 110 in nevada on i80 headed back home from so cal. she was running like a dream, and it was a nice evening (it wasnt super hot out, just hot).

she was running very well with those new valves, and with the deset landscape and no one around for hundreds of miles, she just begged and pleaded to be pushed. i was crusing at 85 (cops and simis flew past me when i was doin 85, so i figured why not!). i punched it, and my lil 4 banger took off. she had some more left after 110.. but i didnt want to push it too hard, especially after paying 1,200 to get one head done.

Exclamation Top speed!?

Fasted I ever pushed a car, and for any length of time, was when I drove my Sapphire Blue 944 N/A from Oklahoma to CA. I hit the Texas Panhandle at about 1 AM, and joined a huge 18 wheeler convoy. I didn't know those buggers could go so fast! We cruised at about 115 for easily well over half an hour! And my baby still had alot to give, but I didn't want to press my luck.

Top that one, guys!

Et tu, Harry, et tu?

"by the way SamGrant951 i speak 4 languajes French, swagili, spanish and english "

Illeterate in 4 languages, that is a topper, even without the 194HP NA.

Done 130 something in an XJ6, 120 or so in the 944 on the way to Rochester, had no guts at that point, think it was the coil that died a month later.

I've got one for you.Coming home from Virgina.Picking up my dad's new ride.....doing 125mph+ for over an hour.I was in arkansas....long flat and straight forever. All I have to say is a 928s4 was made for such things, I mean the car was like "ummmm okay ....you know if you wanna go we can still go"

One of my favorites though was when I driving home from my gf's apartment @ UNT. I was on i35 and, ran into a 300zx(non turbo) a c4 corvette, and a boxster......we all hung together for about 25 or so miles.Driving between 110mph-120mph I will never forget that, everyone just hung together it was great.Btw that was when i was driving my 87 n/a 944

Also have a cool story picking up the turbo from Virgina driving home meeting up with a rt10 viper and a c5 corvette but, I wont talk about that one since the speeds got kinda outta control

Fastest I've ever been on the street was in my first 5.0 Mustang LX. I had it buried in 4th to the redline (bounced off it twice as I was pulling an 80s Firebird) and then slowed back down as we were approaching traffic and the guy starting trying doofus stuff to try and win (which clearly he wasn't going to do). I had tried 5th, but it's too much of an overdrive in that car at that speed. Speedo was showing a bit over 140. Been to 120 more times than I can count, the 951 makes that a 10 second trip from cruising along.

I ran back from Gatlinburg to here at about 90 or so once and have driven through Knoxville in morning rush hour traffic just keeping at around 90....sheesh...cop came by me in the inside lane like I was standing still with a donut in his hand!

I guess one of the most fun was back up through North Carolina to this area with a 930 slant nose about 2 months ago. We were boosting away and his wastegate to atmosphere was too awesome to listen to. We flat laid on it a couple of times, I was up to about 130 or so in the 951 and keeping up with him pretty well and then we dropped back way back as we weren't doing that through any traffic and the road was limited access.
