I have 7's in the front and 8's in the rear. I run 205/55 in the front and 225/50 in the rear.

I run 205's in the front and 225's in the rear, maybe 225's are too much in front ... Good luck my friend, stuff like this will drive me crazy !

Ed , if you run 225's in front what would you run in the rear? 245's?

Yes, or 255's. Some have gone wider than that. Often, that can require dealing with oil line clearance and such.

255s kinda suppose you're going larger than 16" wheels though. Hell, you CAN fit 275/40-17s back there with proper offsets, but until you're into very definite exploiting-the-edges rulebook/going for lap record kinda competition, what's the point?

Funnyism from the Olden Days were Jim Vial and Bill Follmer (yes, George's nephew) running 205s on the front of their lap record holding more-or-less stock POC time trial SCs because the there was less friction running up the front straight at Willow........hence faster lap times. (They were the original Fuchs modular wheel guys, cutting up the 16X6s and using those centers with BBS rim halves.)

Here are a couple of photos to consider.

First, is one of my old chassis (no, I never completed the car as my friend--the guy who owns it now--crashed his car and quickly needed a replacement) in Spec 911 with the typical 7" front wheel running a 225/50-16 Toyo RA1.

Second, is a rather interesting one I happened to just "get." Consider Behram's car in the foreground, fully wound up exiting T11 @ Sears. The cars aren't running crazy negative camber as they still ARE using stock components. Now, look at Tom Van Overbeck's (yes, Johannes dad), behind. Tom's is THE state-of-the-art Spec 911, and the one which the turn-key $125K+ JWE cars are based on.

Do you have standard offset wheels in front (ET 23), any spacers? Maybe it has been lowered too much. Every 911 is a little different. Where is the contact? Markings on the back of the wheel clearly indicate the offset.

Had to install ER camber plates, cut and rolled fenders. Appears to be good now with -2.25 camber.

Also installed steering wheel and spacer, removed passenger seat, installed harness bar and Rennline bits. Just ordered RS Carpet kit and RS door panels and new Sparco Corsa seat. Will update with pictures when I get back to town. Still need to install headers and Wong chip and fiberglass bumpers but am making progress.

Finally making some progress and have the pics to prove it.....

Received my order from Appbiz (RS carpet kit in grey perlon and RS door cards). Having the exhaust installed today so I will try to upload a sound clip later.

Turns out the recent rubbing was caused by the air scoops for the brake cooling ducts. Those will be going away once I install the RS front bumper covers with dedicated inlets.

FedEx just dropped off my new seat and mounting hardware. It's going to be a busy week of installation.

Appboz makes good kits. It's amazing how many pieces there are. Spent a day when I installed mine.

That's why I will have the carpet professionally installed. I will do the door cards because they should be a snap, literally.

Very interesting report, Mike. Thanks for posting.

Your car reminds me a bit of Christian J's find of a 993 that had been sitting in someone's backyard for many years.
