The rear bumper is from Getty and the front was from a place on eBay called CCP Fabrication. Getty didn't make the style bumper I like for the front for narrow cars so I had to go elsewhere. The owner of the body shop said the CCP piece looked very well made and fit very well. Plus it was only $369 plus shipping.....

Thanks for the info. Searching for a car right now, and compiling a list of possible mods.

I'll try to get organized and post a list of all mods/repairs.

Michael,
One more question. I did pull my insulation pads today. Before your shop installed the RS carpet kit, did they use some thin insulation to smoothen the surface or did they glue the carpet direct to the metal?

they used lots of padding in various areas to create a smooth finish with the carpet. Especially around the hump where I had them leave the brackets for the seats in case someone wanted to take the car back to stock at some point. They also cut out some very thin MDF for below the rear windows to smooth it out because it didn't look finished to me without it.

Best of luck.

I'm into mine for 25K and i'm still counting ... lol

Cheers !

Do you mean you paid $23k and invested another $25k after that?
Or just another $2k?

I had that exact color combo for my 88. I might have sold too cheap but something was just off with my paint on he rear end. it was never wrecked but it was an odd shade in the rear.

I sold for $14k with 125k miles but it needed a top end rebuild and AC work. It was one of those things while I had the engine out might as well do the clutch for another $2k. i was just not ready to drop $10k at the time.

Someone said these are $25k cars. They were right.

Yours is really taking shape.

That is a good start point - but so many good ones are gone too. It seems I am always in the "upper" range though .

That one is looking really good. The really good ones are always more.

I'd say these are $50-60k cars.

I read The Gold Plated Porsche and I agree with Ed for the best built up and maintained and primo 911s it starts around 40,000. I saw one a couple of weeks ago that you could not even give to me for free that they ask was $ 15,000.

Yes that never happens to me . I always tell the guys to make a list of what is needed and multiply that by $300 . It seems to work pretty well .

But the other day I was looking at a head rebuild for a Jeep. They said we will just send you a complete head, with gaskets, and hardware, shipped to you for ... wait for it .... $300 . What ? About they price of one cylinder of head studs for a Porsche for a complete head set. Yep send that down here .
