I am in Boston for work this week but the shop found the correct torsion bars so I expect to pick up the car this Saturday, get it e-tested and then bolt on the new headers, muffler and Wong chip. I will be doing lots of undercarriage cleaning if we have good weather.
Rennline sent my order to the wrong address but I should have the pedals, strut brace and sills (one of the originals was missing) by the time I arrive home.
Hope to pull the seats, install a Harness bar and 6 point belts but probably not for another week depending on work schedule.

Just received a picture of my lowered and corner balanced car with the refurbished wheels and updated 7s. I received the wrong rears (225s vs 245s) so I have to wait until next Tuesday to actually drive the car. The wait is killing me but it will be worth it I am sure.

Thank you Sarge! It is coming along nicely IMO. Slower than I hoped but forward. I have to get new rockers since the old one's are too badly damaged. I plan to replace the front and rear bumpers with fiberglass at the same time since I want the paint to match.

I installed my new "period correct" steering wheel. Miami Vice was still on the air in 1989 if memory serves. Anyone have a white linen sport coat I can buy?

Yes, I am kidding. I am getting bored because we got a foot of snow over the weekend and I am tired of waiting for my car. As long as the correct rear tires show up tomorrow, Tuesday, I will be able to drive the car for the first time other than the 25 feet to the base of my trailer.

No, but I've actually got a NOS factory white (linen?) carpet kit for an '89............ (No idea if it's Coupe, Targa, or Cab version, though.)

I went to pick up my car last night but the damn front tires aren't fitting. I cut and rolled the fenders, still no luck. I installed 7" Fuchs with 225 45 16s (Toyo RA1s) but the right side is not working and the left barely clears......I used to run the 8" 944 Turbo offset Fuchs on my 911 SC race car with these tires for practice all day long and don't recall it being anywhere near this close so what gives? Do any of you run 225s in the front on 7s? I ordered the Elephant Racing adjustable camber plates ($675 with overnight shipping F$&*) and hope this solves the problem. Any input is welcome, even you Ed as long as you don't tell me I'm a dumb Fu$*

Unless something is bent (strut?) you should be able to fit them with no real issues, assume you have the camber in neg territory.
I don't have experience with the camber plates. I did rework my struts to decamber them, allowing much more negative adjustment, and raised the spindles to remove bump steer. That, I know, was a good combo, and allowed me to run 225 in 16" and 17" sizes up front.

Yeah, with cut/rolled fenders you should have plenty of clearance and even street-reasonable negative camber.
Here's ol' Ruby right now, albeit with 17" 225's.........

Without going back through all sometimes gory five pages of the thread.............by chance this car didn't get upgraded to 930 calipers, and more importantly, 930 front hubs???
