Ok well, I didn't get to do a a lot to the car( well maybe I did, I don't know). Saturday I spent pulling this and that off, mostly wiring, labeling the gauge connections etc.. Ed Hughes came by and dropped of his ball joint separators. (Thanks Ed! You need to voice your opinion on the project now!) Oh and the front support that covers the suspension pan is half off..... Like it's been mentioned before, the employees on the Porsche line must have been paid by spot welds! Holy moly....

I didn't think that I was going to get anything done today since the family went for a hike behind the house that was supposed to be an hour.... three hours later we made it home... But afterwards I ended up out there in the garage and pulled the front struts, cross member master cylinder etc. I could not get the dust covers off of the front hubs.... I tried everything. Even tried the muffler clamp. My last hope is heating the cover up a little and trying again. they do not want to move AT ALL.

Still waiting on the welder (again since I bought the wrong one). OEM RS flares are expected to show up next Thursday. Decided to start looking into priming the shell to protect the bare parts........ Wow there's a lot of opinions on what to do! I got the opinion of Kevin from AIR (thru George) that a polymer primer will be fine but if I want to go pricier then go with NCP..........

Nice! Reminds me of the old cars rolling thru germany in the 80's!

Here's a nice first project for your welder: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/3225899-post7.html

Those latest pics are almost enough to threaten partial loss of sphincter control.

Make no mistake, this is a big project Ed is taking on. But, the body is fairly sound with just a few hot spots.

I did make him an offer to help him out with many of the parts he needs, but he seems content to source them one at a time....

You seriously need to re-evaluate that offer. I think there's other options available that might work out better..... I thought about it for quite a while.

What about non-op($18) for a while and takes it off of insurance? Make it a track only car for a while....

that's an understatement.
It appears daunting, but when you break it down in little stages, it's not quite so bad. Just set a reasonable timetable for finishing....like 2 years (if your life is anything like mine )

I've suggested a 3.4 to him.

Hey, I've also got a lot of suspension component recommendations. Brakes, interior configuration, wheels, safety, exhaust, on and on.

I can only "recommend" a specific set of goodies.
