CLEARLY, either could be well true, except for the "8 HOURS".....I trust these guys far more than that....

..BUT: your point is made,..and of anyone's concern...you never know.....that battle could, in fact, go on for a bit, for the conservative (I guess?)...yet it could be a short endeavor...high heat,....long breaker bar (maybe spice it with real cold sheeeit...then have a WHACK AT IT......some other guys have noted a more, slow (graceful?) approach of a slow IN/OUT (repetitive) process, thereby "working" it out...don't know if this manifests within a massive snapping breakpoint (breaker bar) or a slow continuous IN/OUT movements.....hell,..that's why I turned it over to the Pros to handle, should a timecert requirement prevail (i.e.:::ENGINE DROP)..

Not sure of their methodology, but am sure of their experience and honesty....good groundwork...

I'll post a soon as the call/email comes in...

(crossed fingers)..

rambles...nervous...

hey we could start a poll .....
my vote is they got it out without any real pain .. they just left it till the end of the day ... I mean even if they drop the engine it is only an a couple of hours plus the cost of oil really .

Maybe I am an optimist but i think most mechs have some real good tricks from years of experirnce..

Gotcha' ICE.

I asked them, should the drop be necc'ry, what would the charge be for just the engine drop and reinstall,...::::it was $500...of course this has nothing to do with the Valve adjusment and oil/filter change (I provide all parts) which they spec'd out at $300.00...Let's see if the rop is necc first..that stages everything forward...no?

Best,

We'll see,..keeping you guys posted...

Don't know at this point...he mentioned something about hitting it with a power wrench (assuming he's something grab to) and they'll come out...?.... Now, I'm tasked with looking at the necc'ry things to address "while on the ground".......it would seem that everything I've changed lately has been the original part from production (alternator/reg, flex brake lines, clutch slave flex, etc........time to look at fuel lines and such......as I bet they are 1989 , as well).

Geeze,..here we go,..blowing my paint budget....what else shall we find.....?

Best,

Doyle

Had conversation with Serge,...a forthright, straightup guy who will tell you what reality is, I'm sure.

I'd definitely do the fuel lines while it's out. If the car burns to the ground, you won't need the paint budget anyway

yup and there is the standard clutch and associated parts .... but as they say ..90% of the labour is done once the engine is out.

For what it's worth, I don't think the engine needs to be dropped unless the cylinder heads are coming out. If the guy is using an impact wrench and an easy out, then be careful of metal shavings.
