Rx'd the data today from the wrench. They used Sav-a-Thread, a HeliCoil product, on the repair.

We are now to undertake a process of repair that will use the (originally requested) Time-Sert product.

Any of you machinist types care to call attention to the details of the work? I don't know exactly which specific helicoil product was used so I've still to study further on how the HCs lock,..and why one would "unlock". I do know the TS product will require the tool to drill the shoulder for the S/P washer,..I DO understand how this product "locks"...but still wonder as to the steps to be taken and things to watch for....I mean,...do you replace all items along the way? Guess so.

Also,..what products exists that can handle the high heat temps yet provide an additional locking preventative step (lock-Tight-like)? Would you all use such an additional locking solution?

...I'm all ears. I just want this next pass to be permanent.

Thanks to all,

Doyle

Loctite wouldn't be very effective in a high heat situation, I would think.

I know the vendor of the product does have something that exceeds 500 degrees.......would that be ok?
