^^^ At first thought of even thinking of returning it to stock, send me a PM and we'll negotiate a purchase price. I'll buy it from you in the hot rod mode you've built it in.

My wife has been incredibly patient with this build. It has taken much longer than expected, consumed many more funds than expected and ‘consumed’ her house. I had almost the entire car in the house at some point. Talking suspension, motor, boxes of parts - Only the chassis remained outside the home.

Well, at least she is getting her home back - this is all that remains in the house until I am able to install following the headliner install. BTW, installing these window seals and the aluminum trim that presses into the seal channel will be on my top 10 list of most annoying things.

I am already in the hole with my wife....PMO intake system stored in the bookcase as **art**, 4 new Fuchs wheels sitting in the exercise room, until recently the pool table and the whole rec room was being taken up by my wiring harness and related parts as I got it all checked out.

Spare bedroom has piles of boxes and parts including my Rasant system. Bicycle shed has become a parts repository so the bikes have to live elsewhere...

I suspect the tally my wife is keeping includes absolutely no limit on the credit card, travel to the locations of her choice...she already got a new Benz as a partial guilt offering.

I feel your pain and now relief....

Happy Friday - beautiful weather past few days in SoCal - figured I would share some rare views of my car sneaking out of the garage! I have built this thing in a jam packed tiny (and quite messy) garage and rarely move it out as my garage backs into an alley.

^ thanks. I like it too - and Manhattan Beach isn't too far from me. I would have preferred the original selling dealership frame, but could not identify it. I even called PCNA - no luck.

Car can start now - it even has gas in it. *More on that in a second*. I am lucky to be able to work with Richard Humphrey to start my motor, dial in and break in. Richard is considered a premier motor guy (for older air cooled motors) and is an MFI expert - but doesn't typically take on these types of jobs. Richard prefers break in under load to help with rings, so I am going to trailer the car to his shop for this work. Honestly - I am very nervous about the first start - maybe having the car in the hands of a much more capable person than myself adds some comfort I have never built a motor before and am now wondering why I chose to do this on a Porsche motor - and one that I have invested a lot $$ into (surprising how much I am invested into this thing and I did the assembly myself! - parts and machine work is $$ on these things.) I have nightmares asking myself -- did I properly time the cams, is my piston to valve clearance good -- oh, and oil leaks!

With the delay at the upholstery shop, I cannot get my car to Richard until probably March.

Back to the gas being in the tank. Not sure if folks have heard there is a protective coating sprayed in the new tanks that needs to be removed before running. I am doing my best to clean the tank without removing it. I didn't realize this was the case (I did use hot water and dish soap to clean it out before I installed it - and ensured it was dried out thoroughly) - but you need to use brake cleaner and gas to do this properly. Some folks say it isn't necessary - I am just going to do my best with cleaning and siphoning the fuel back out. Putting fuel in has allowed me to check for fuel leaks too (none).

Hey, it will be fine I'm sure.
I have a 7R core and 3/4 of a 7R (minus case parts) available if it goes REALLY bad! :-) Which it won't!

on the Interior, why is that a hold up on getting engine running?
