Is this "the guy" with the secret recipe break-in fuel formula? You cannot start the engine without that fuel Car looks great.
My engine was dyno'd a few weeks ago and I shared my results a few weeks ago with Spyrex who has been super helpful. I am very pleased with the initial results.
I will pick up the engine/transmission/entire assembly next week and bring home. This part only took since Labor day weekend 2019.
That's great - would love to see some photos once you get the motor/trans in the car.
I am admittedly being crazy conservative. I want someone that knows what they are doing all along the way. Since it is a break-in I am being sensitive to RPM's, etc and also identifying any problems during the initial run is important to me. Just a lot of conservatism.
Not the best photos but I had to push the car out to get pics to increase my insurance coverage - so figured I would post them up here too! Can’t wait to get photos of my car in other places than my garage and alley.
car is looking great! one question on the quarter windows: does sealing tape go underneath those washers along the window opening or on the underside of the trim piece?

Thanks!
I am pretty sure the factory dabbed a little sealant around the rubber washer for extra seal. When I removed mine there was evidence of this residue - although it could have been that the rubber washers deteriorated a bit into a black residue. The screws protrude into the wheel well area and should be treated with undercoat to seal them up a bit - I did this.
Thanks!

Yeah, on my '75 there was a rubberized tape that went under that part, plus the little thin washers of course.
When I was done, I go some really good Waxoyl kind of spray (Wurth makes a good one) and liberally sprayed around every screw, my theory was that wax getting in any tiny hole would keep the tinworm at bay for a long time....and at the 25 year mark, there is zero rust there....
in the meantime, I taught my son how to drive a manual. Starting with a 915 may not be the easiest to learn on!
That’s great Bill. Love it when the younger generation has an interest in these funny little cars we love and can drive a stick. My son and I had a 73 2.0L 914 that he learned to drive that we autocrossed together. He started to beat my times after the 3rd AX. I haven’t been close since....
