I wish there were tire choice options on the ordering system..

I’ll swap once I wear out the Cup2’s.

FAL really only adds 8 lbs? That’s solid info?

I may have to relent.

If we really want to balance out that front end weight, few late night desserts and snacks should quickly balance that out

Not because of any temp related handling but just knowing what they are it psyches me out from time to time.
I would be, I save the Race 2/Cup 2 tires for track adventures (bought a second set of wheels for them) and mount up a set of street tires like MPS 4S for street driving.

I won't be tracking it, nor would I want to be an extra set of center-lock rims. It would be a waste to get rid of them unless someone wants to buy them from me. I just don't see myself waring these tires out for several years (100 miles every 2 weeks to a month during warmer climates). Maybe selling them immediately would be better route..

Being where you are in BC, I'm sure you can relate.

It would seem that our vehicle-use profiles are very different, "100 miles every 2 weeks to a month and only during warmer climates" is not me at all. I would take it from this statement you will hardly be driving your SRS. I live in a part of BC where cabriolets are king and you see them out and about all year long, mine is insured 12 months of the year.

I have 3 sets of wheels for my Spyder, summer, fall/winter/spring and track, I strongly feel that there is the right tire for the job, the SRS would be no different. I am not a track rat, nor do I drive the Spyder in the snow, but going out in freezing weather on Cup 2 tires is foolish and you can't really do a DE with all-season tires either.

There is no way I would entertain the idea of the SRS to drive it only occasionally and when I do drive it, I don't want the tire to compromise the experience or my safety.

I would say based on your reply, the Race 2/Cup 2 tires the SRS will come with are not going to fit your needs, and since you said only drive a little when it is warmer, then yes selling the tires on the car at delivery and putting on MPS 4S tires would be my suggestion.

Definitely. My 718 Spyder currently has 2200 miles. I am also an avid motorcyclist & off-roader. So most of my cars sit in the garage for me to return home during Spring to Fall. I take them out usually couple of times a month, sometimes more seldomly. On top of this 1 car in FL, another in NC and 6 in VA.

I slapped on the Cup 2s on my M3 out of curiosity, but will not do this again.

He seems to like it

I don’t get why more people aren’t posting videos like this instead of parked cars!

Weekend bump for any of our European friends who have taken delivery of their SRS.

We would all love to hear about your driving impressions of your Spyder RS!

700km so far, it's been raining a lot.
It's cool when police pull up along side of me and give me thumbs up.

This is how Canadians get their friendly reputation lol. How are are you finding the Cup 2 tires in Toronto not-so-warm rain?
