Well that makes sense… for Porsche; I guess it sucks for us.

Interesting. Do Dealers really complain to Porsche about delays? Customers complaints to Dealers wouldn’t reach Porsche corporate unless the Dealers are sending over the complaints… unless pending owners have been hammering the customer service phone lines about delays.

How so? Previously dates would just hang…sometimes for months without explanation. Now you’re given a month’s long range window.

Really kind of a wash, what TYD shows doesn’t change when you get your car

Why should the end date of the range be any more concrete than a singular date previously provided? The end date of the range could just hang also if it isn’t met, no?

I think it just adds confusion to the entire scenario. I think it’d have been better for them to do a better job modifying the singular dates involved when they are missed instead of letting them hang; now with the range, people have to play many additional guessing games. Let’s face it — most cars met and do meet their targets; some don’t, and that stinks. But if someone wants to make plans, he has a better chance of those plans not requiring alteration with a singular end date at his disposal than with a huge range of a few months.

I never said it’s more accurate or the end date is better…it’s just different data to be understood.

The casual TYD people, not RL, will now likely see their cars delivered sooner than projected.

Ever hear “under promise over deliver”

No, I’ve never heard of under promise and over deliver. (Jeez, who hasn’t.) And I know you didn’t say so, and I didn’t say you said so. I am saying that the new range alleviates Porsche from meeting any sort of reasonable deadline and it decreases the inclination of folks to plan for their car’s arrival. Under promise and over deliver has a limit — it must be within reason. If Porsche tells you your car will arrive betweeen July 1st and February 1st, and it arrives on July 14th, did they over deliver? I don’t think so. I think over delivering applies when there’s a reasonable time line involved. I don’t think two months in a range on track your dream is reasonable or useful. It’s an excessive “cover my a**” strategy.

I understand your position, which is that the customer has no control over any of this anyway, the data doesn’t change when the car comes, the data is a bonus, interpretations of data differ, and the data hardly matters. I get it. I’m saying Porsche is putting out worse data than before with this “new data.” If you think the data is better or worse than before, you could say so; but I don’t think you form such an opinion. I do.

This falls under the “you can’t make everyone happy” category.

Signal yellow is my 2nd favorite right behind GTS Red.. awesome color.

I checked with my SA and he says no changes to my order and no request from porsche for me to change anything so I should have it completed on 6/19...fingers crossed

Okay, I bugged my SA for the second day in a row for PVMS. I am in Emden, supposed to get on a boat and be out of the port tomorrow! In port here by 7/5.

So closest boat looks to be Wolfsburg leaving 15th, and getting to Houston on 7/8. (thanks Shaggy and WestCoast)

Mine's been like that since February!

Nothing like a three month delivery window...

Looks amazing! That’s basically my build aside from the wheels(Im doing satin). Looking at your images reinforces my decision on color! My production is a little delayed but should be completed this month. Congratulations.
