They will. Sounds like an SRS allocation can be easily had around $50k. I think I remember that the AMD when the 4RS came out was around $75k. I can see the ADM for the SRS dip to $20k-$30k next year.

Isn't it known that the SRS demand would be less than the GT4RS? The Spyder demand has typically been less than GT4. Why would the SRS be any different?

Curious if anybody has had build month moved up? I was offered an April build earlier this month. Able to confirm V200 with European delivery and was looking forward to taking delivery in Summer. SA contacted me now that freeze date is 1/19 with estimated delivery 3/8... Anybody know if ED can be delayed and by how long? Would prefer to take delivery in warmer weather.

I frankly love the concept of the Spyder RS. I had the base 718 GT4 and the 718 Spyder and now I have the GT4 RS. I think the SRS will be a phenomenal experience with that "top down" visceral GT4 RS power, sound and handling-ish. I did like my Spyder more than the base GT4 for example. But at the prices the SRS are going for it's difficult to see the value. At 50k over and an average config with weissach and ceramics it's a ~260k car, plus tax... A speedster sold on cars and bids recently for 315... and at 260 it's some 2x a similarly configured CPO base Spyder.
In my view the Spyder RS would be totally worth its MSRP, but I can't value this much premium, especially with no MT available. Therefore I agree with people here saying that the ADM should go down next year. It will depend on two factors IMO: What will be the "real world" experiences from people who start getting these cars vs the youtuber reviews, and how long will Porsche make them. I hear all 2024 build slots have been allocated to dealers, so whatever is being offered these days could be it, since I already heard about September 24 builds for MY25 with commission numbers. If that is the case, there could be that supply and demand game through next year, unless people start backing out of their orders through the year.

The GT4 RS is also iffy with the premium over the base GT4, but this one you can track the heck out of it and it's such a huge difference in experience from the 718 GT4 on the track. I truly miss a 718 manual car. My only 2 reasons to consider the SRS are: I loved the base Spyder and enjoyed it more than the base GT4 (both MT); and I do track somewhat often, the 4RS is awesome on the track but also a huge blow if poop happens, so I'd consider getting a focused track car and leave the SRS for the back roads experience. But at these premiums I'm keeping the 4RS for now and maybe try to get a good deal on a base Spyder. Let's see how it goes!

Dealer offered me a SRS allocation yesterday. I said I’d think about it. I’m getting a 911 S/T and I already have a BMW M3 Touring (daily). I just don’t have the space and money for another car!

the Speedster on Cars and Bids (black car) was bid to $314. In other words, no sale. The real world price in Speedsters is near $400k. The real world price on the Spyder RS's will be MORE than $100k less. Comparing the SRS to a base Spyder is like comparing the Speedster vs the base 911 T. Porsche hasn't made a Spyder RS car since the 1960s. These are special cars that will always be desirable, like the Speedster.

P.S. We have a SRS coming in q1 of 2024. We are paying over list. We are happy to have the spot.

That's a much bigger difference in starting pricing than Spyder to Spyder RS, and both 911 have manual transmissions, so I don't think the price delta will be nearly as big for base vs RS, manual vs pdk

Agree to disagree. The speedster is a GT3 convertible that was made once in never, with MT. The base Spyder has been around since 987.2. They built a million 718 Spyders and they go for less than the GT4 on the used market these days. The technical difference and use case from a 718 Spyder to a Spyder RS is much smaller than the top NA 911 like the Carrera GTS convertible to a speedster. Don't get me wrong, I'm actively pursuing a Spyder RS allocation and I hope after I get it that the rarity and experience are so great that they get in the hall of fame of uniqueness. But now, in November 2023 with the information that is available, I personally just don't see the value of the premium.
Also, bid to 314 means the market was willing to pay 314 (or 319k with commission) but the seller didn't feel like selling for that. There are base Spyders for 180k asking on Autotrader while they are being sold for 115-125k on bring a trailer and others.

The speedster was a limited numbered car with only 1948 worldwide. SRS is not a limited edition car.

SRS US production alone will probably get close to that number when production ends.
