Is this just a hunch?

PAG Chief of Production is on the record numerous time stating production ends mid year. Makes sense as it aligns with summer holiday break and previous internal leak of Oct stop sale.

If not mid-year, then when?

You have to take into account the context of Reimolds statement. He was giving the interview to a German magazine. I bet he meant they'll get the 1500 allowed units for the EU done by summer 2025.
My hunch is that they'll make them for US until end of 2025 maybe early 2026. So 3 maybe 4 more allocation rounds. Also they are definitely winding down 4RS production because they are getting close to 7000.
If the EV Boxster is delayed for some reason anything is possible. Though I think a MY'26 is unlikely for the SRS.
Just look at the 992.1 GT3. It's off the configurator for I don't even know how long. Yet they are still making them at a rate of ~5 a day just for North America. MY'24 cars that is.
So yes it's a hunch but I don't think that mid-2025 comment meant a hard stop for RoW. It's top management...they just babble sometimes.

Perhaps, it was also revealed a while back production of the current cup motor was coming to an end.

Wasn’t the comments made in Australia and elsewhere?

Anyway, guess we’ll see.
