1. I've been on this forum for more than a decade and have learned a lot from others, but this is the single best thing I've seen someone support the community with. Thank you. Things went flawlessly.
2. Definitely get the download manager. I waited three days on the maps only to have them terminate prematurely during download. With the download manager it took 8 or 9 hours but it was complete and functional.
+1 Ubermensch: I consider this forum - not only because of this thread - to be one of the best resources on the internet about all things Porsche.
I have a European Spyder inbound and purposely did not order a nav because I planned to swap out the radio for the storage compartment. Radio delete.
Until some time ago, there was a server with countless files (I believe out of the Audi sphere). This is now history. Has anyone here ever successfully retrofitted a European car before or have any information on this? Is the process the same?
Need some help. I tried to add nav on 2018 GTS. My car has already GPS antenna. Before following the steps on this thread I used my PIWIS 3 in regular mode (not development mode) and code the PCM using the automatic coding. Everything went well no errors but now PCM doesnt turn on .... black screen. Actually I believe is on as I can communicate to it .... no fault memory codes .... but doesnt play or show anything on the screen.
Could be that I accidentally put it development mode or something similar?

If you are coding your PCM or Headunit, the screen might go dark on your PCM. I have seen this on Stock and AIO PCM, every time that you code the PCM. It will go in Production Mode (dark screen). You need to deactivate Production Mode from the Maintenance and Repairs tab below. Select Produktionmodus deaktivieren then click on Next twice and Start the job by clicking F8.Start. At the end click on Next to return to the main menu. You will also see a Service Mode message on top of the screen. This will disappear once you disconnect your VCI connector. If you have a Carlinkit or Ottobox module for Wireless Android Auto or CarPlay, I would highly recommend that you disconnect it before coding your PCM.
Sending out a MASSIVE thank you! I've gotten the Navi enabled in the car 'all by myself' HAHAHAHA. With a ton of help from the interwebs, but happy I was able to follow along with the newest process so easily.
Next step, LVDS cable should be arriving this weekend and needs to get installed. Will likely do a T-Design module and hard-wire radar detector power cord while I'm in there, so the install will wait until all ancillary modules are in hand.
Is the PIWIS coding for enabling Navi display in the gauge cluster something that you can help me with/do remotely? If so, what parts/software/dongle should I get ahold of so I'm prepared once the other stuff is installed?
Thanks again, the resources the broader community is willing to come together and share amongst the tech-illiterate are really a life (and about $2,500) saver.

With the LVDS cable, it is really tricky to get the trim around the instrument cluster offer without breaking something or scratching something. Be careful. 718socal said that most folks need special prying tools....

Congrats. Again it is a team effort. You need coding done to your cluster with PIWIS after you install the LVDS cable. Will you be using the T-Design for *** off or remembering your exhaust, suspension settings? PM me
