Default MIB software versions

I just got my 2023 Spyder and want to do this.

However, I’m nervous/concerned the MIB software that I would download and install would be an earlier version that my new cars current software version. Therefore a step backwards.

anyone have thoughts on this ?

If you follow the steps as documented, a patch cannot be applied unless it will work properly. So you could setup the SD card and launch the MIB software without risk. From the MIB software, you can determine whether a patch exists (because it selects the proper patch automatically)

If there isn't a patch, you have additional steps which basically is you upload a file which allows the MIB community to create a new patch for your version.

Go for it.

The PCM can display the current firmware version, navigate to that screen, take a picture, post it here and we will advise.

Post #1 gives the key sequence to display this information.

Thanks.

Did you install the recommended Download Manager, this will significantly increase the download speed,

I have shied away from alleged download managers in the past but I will try it today.

Thanks.

The download manager helped me download the P85 in about a day.

Been trying for 2 days to download the P87 update and it keeps timing out. Tried restarting again this morning and it won't pull anything down, just sits on "querying info"

There is an alternate link for AIO download which was way faster:

Was anyone able to activate voice control with MIB?

After pressing the lever button for voice control mhi2 only tells me “voice control is currently not available”
Long press starts Siri.

In MIB (3.4.1) “multimedia_system/voice_control/Voice control System” is activated.addfecs from patch folder include 00070100 and 00070200

According to the MIB Wiki, these are "SDS Speech Dialog System (Voice Remote Control)" and "SDS Speech Dialog System (Voice Remote Control) for Navigation".

I used PIWIS to enable this so maybe somebody else who enabled this with M.I.B could chime in.

It would appear that the end location for the file download is no longer available.

I'm in the Inland Empire, near Claremont and the border with LA County.

I tried the download manager and stand corrected. The K5186_1_MU1476_AIO file downloaded in a couple hours. Now I have to re-read the instructions a couple dozen times while the maps download.

Going forward, as I understand it:
1. I'll need access to PIWIS for my Bose.
2. I'll need PIWIS and the LVDS cable to get the Nav working in the cluster.

Thanks for all the help. Hopefully, I will be able to pay this forward when I complete this.

1: Bose update will not be performed with AIO und I guess you do not need it. You are good to go
2: correct, but navigation will work on the head unit without cable and PIWIS. This is only for navigation view in the cluster.

If you are ARegion you don‘t need the manual from post 1.
AIO is pretty automatic, Just check up the video posted in this thread.
