My cost was minimal for me since I already have PIWIS. All inclusive for me $150. Files are shared for free, buy a couple SD cards, an hour coding and 1/2 hour to install the LVDS cable.

Thank you for the tips. That helped me a lot trying to figure out what was needed. 👍

I think I’ll just pay Sima to do mine for me.

do you only need PIWIS for the cluster to work?

Correct. The NAV will work on your PCM regardless of the cluster coding. I don't think that you will get the NAV arrows in the cluster. I can't confirm this since I coded mine with PIWIS at the same time.

Let me know how he does it. I read that he used Telnet with USB to Ethernet adapter.

Same here. I read just enough of the DIY for my eyes to glaze over. No PIWIS, no know-how to do the programming, and a great propensity to screw something up really badly. I successfully installed a PCM w/ nav and sat radio in my 981, wired a second phone mic, rigged GPS antenna and sat antenna, and had the dealer code it after buying the votes from a Russian guy. This stuff is so far above my capability it's like brain surgery. My hat's off to you guys that understand this, my step-son could do it for me if he had the time but he's using his MIT degree to make millions programming stuff for the Air Force that I barely understand the concepts of. Sima is likely my route, but if you could explain what I would need to get the cluster to work I would gladly pay for it.

For the cluster, you are basically adding the NAV option and Automatically Coding all the settings in all the modules. It does it automatically for you. If you can find someone with PIWIS, that should not take long. As for the other stuff, if you do it once, its not that bad 😁.

This is so awesome. So much for everyone saying that it cant be done. Looks like its literally just hardware. I think all MY23 comes with the antenna. This will be a fun project when the GT4 arrives.

He told me all I needed was a USB-Ethernet adapter and a 32gb card and the ability to use Vmware.

Unless things have changed he will use remote access (Team Viewer) to the your laptop connected to the PCM via an ethernet and appropriate USB-Ethernet adapter.

Your assistance will be make all of the physical connections and when he has it ready, to take the loaded SD card (I recommend a full size format as microSD's in adapters can be finicky), insert it into the PCM, then watch, with that he will connect and make the changes you asked for.

i am curious if you could now interface with the porsche track precision app via porsche connect services or in general for the connect services? sounds like a "grey area" to me

I was able to use the Track Precision Appp without the Porsche Car Connect Service. It was mentioned on post #37 here
