That Spyder is salvageable by just painting the wheels silver and the calipers red or black. Couple grand. Its ugliness may be a huge advantage during negotiations.
I like the 'no nipples' base headlights on mine. Less weight and looks cleaner. But this car is a weird spec, you've got to admit. The person who specced the car splurged on aluminum pedals, but no Bose for example. And I just upgraded the door sills to the SS illuminated ones, they look great and more luxurious. The standard plastic ones look terrible on a $100k car. Do they change my driving experience? No, but I really like the way they look. Ties in the interior with the brushed aluminum trim mine has in my opinion.

Painting the wheels and calipers are relatively easy as you said (while being somewhat costly). The Gentian Blue with Red Classic Interior and Red Top are a no go for me even with black calipers and silver or platinum wheels; I'm guessing most would feel the same.

I agree the car is far from a ‘perfect’ spec. Was just commenting on those less relevant or more subjective options. And yes, a black top would have been much better.

3 hours to go on this Spyder.

Only driven 73 miles since 01/22 production...so sad.

Unbelievable... I must have it all wrong because I thought the point was to actually buy the car to drive and enjoy!

Well the seller did provide this:

"One person asked why only 73 miles? I ordered the car intending it to be a forever car, specifying a manual for engagement. Alas it is that engagement that in my case, is a problem, as I have a spinal cord injury that affects my left foot. So the car has been driven sparingly — exercised a few miles each month. Otherwise, it has always been garage stored and maintained on a battery tender."

True, who knows?

No one ever just says "flip".

73 miles and exercised "a few miles" each month. Yikes, not good.

The seller states he ordered the car as a “forever” car and chose manual for engagement, but he has a spinal cord injury affecting his left leg and therefore wishes to sell as it’s difficult to drive.

I guess, but if that were the case I would have made the hard decision nearly 2 years ago to move it along and get something I could drive.

I predict the all in price will be $6K over MSRP, so basically a grand over when you factor in the BAT $5K.

Exclamation

Guys,

Who really ever knows what is true on a post on the internet.
But .............
That guy could simply be explaining why it only has very few miles on it.

I had a New S-60 Volvo with a 6-speed and it was so Bad-*** I loved it and thought I was lucky to have it.
But .............
I lost Fine-Motor-Control one day in my left-leg.
Luckily, my Sis-in-Law, wife's sister was an MD.
I called her from work and she said can you make it to your Primary Physician's office ???
I said I'll meet you there.
Turns-out I was immediately taken to the Hospital for Brain-Surgery as I had Busted Blood Vessel in the brain.
I had Sold the S-60 Volvo as I PANICKED and thought I'll never be able to drive it with a 6-speed using my left leg.
Obviously, I should have waited but Sadly I didn't.

Things can and do happen to us.
Terry

I had this issue. Severe disk herniations that caused nerve damage and foot drop in the left leg. Had surgery that got me about 90% back, but manuals are still more challenging than they used to be. And if the surgery had been less successful, they’d be impossible. It’s actually not terribly uncommon.

For reference, Brooklyn auto sales had the following at 140k and sold immediately

- GT4
- Manual
- Python
- Buckets
- Leather
- Steel Brakes

Mileage was below 5k iirc

Needs heated sofas, PCCB, black dash, black top, and Bose. LWBS with iron brakes only make sense in a track car.

Spyders don't have a great track record on BaT do they? Unless you're 000. Bad time of year for mass market for cars like this as well.
