I was a little skeptical at first when i saw how big the gains were for the OTS maps. In fact we all asked Cobb why they did such a good job because now we can't look like heros! Alas, they left us some headroom. Thank you Andrew!

I would love to see any Dynojet files and i could load them on our software with the promise that it would be 100% transparent.

Come on now Peter; you know i was doing this with the realization that you were watching, just chomping at the bit!

Yes...we would prefer that you A.) do not violate speed laws B.) have someoen lined up with bail $ and preferrably a camera.

You know me...i like to be as scientifc as possible because unlike vendors who market, i love to prove claims wrong. I'm more like you guys...numbers aren't as high as other peoples' for a reason. I love it when people call to receive the underpromising and overdelivering.
With Cobb mentioning heat soak preventing them from making more repeatable power, how are you addressing this?

Just for comparison, what does a 991.1gt3 typically run in that Dyno with SAE correction and a smoothing of 5?

We went and developed our own intake similar to the Manthey one but for the Clubsports that run a driver cooling system and the road cars that don't want to completely cannibalize the usage of the rear hatch area. The problem with the Cayman isn't just on the dyno. The side intakes are digesting air that you're getting while you're up the butt of your favorite poorly driven GT3. That hot, gross air is going to the engine bay. When we get air from the quarter windows it is of greater pressure and lower temperature.

As far as tuning, i try not to dump a lot of IGN timing in the car and lean it out because that makes the effects of the heat soak worse. I don't use fans. I like the car heat soaked as much as possible becacuse that's how it lives on the race track.

Here is one more...those curves above laid in with a 4.2L 981 we just did and a customer's 4.5L 718 Clubsport that came by for an inspection.

Vs 4RS would be another interesting chart….I’m guessing…. better low down torque and then probably tracks a dead heat, up until 8k.. where the 4RS continues to 9k.

Was all set to install this am and got the "this accessport is not compatible with your vehicle". Nice looking paperweight though. I guess I'll call support when I have some time. Might ne a few weeks since it'll be Thanksgiving and travel for work again.

John@BGB

OK just talked to AJ and besides you are busy as heck I have Dec 21 blocked for a tune. I did tell him you promised a hefty discount.

It’s killing me not being able to drive my car when the weather is this nice. Argh.

Just realised this is a more recently updated thread as I just replied to a different one.

I've just flashed my UK car with it - pulls like a train over 5k now.
Kyle @ Cobb Support was brilliant throughout.

Definitely don't hesitate getting this - I believe the dyno results based on the on road performance.

If anyone in UK has any questions about the process let me know.

So, as you know the Cobb Tune for 718 GT4 isn't available for non US cars. Can't even buy the relevant AP in the UK.

However, these figures really intrigued me ... one of things I felt that was missing with the GT4 was that 'race to the redline' feeling. The power band is quite flat (not a terrible thing with the torque always there), but when I saw the above dyno charts (both Cobb and the OPs) - it was noticable more torque throughout and a more aggressive pull to the redline.

I reached out to Cobb Support and asked about whether it would come to the UK / World Market - he basically explained it wasn't on the cards right now but if I bought the right model of AP from the US, he'd get the maps tweaked to work on a UK spec car - they expected it to work / produce similar power to the above (other UK cars have already done it).

Got the AP, hooked the car up to a battery charger, went to install - didn't work - but I took a screenshot of what it showed (basically my cars ROM ID I presume) - sent it to them, they created the maps and sent them back.
Added the maps to the AP, went out again and this time it was smooth sailing.

Got it running on the stage 1 93 / 98 octane map.

Haven't had it dyno'd yet - will potentially do some tweaks, get a pro tune and a dyno - but it does seem to pull harder, especially at the top end of the powerband. Think there was more torque lower down too.

If the whp gains are genuine - it's a bargain for the price.
Makes me wonder if Porsche didn't just detune the GTS but also the 718 GT4 to avoid it competing too heavily with GT3 / GT4 RS.
That'd explain why both make silly power gains on this tune.
