PIWIS 3 Coding Retrofit and Feature Request

I'm going to guess this is because tires increase in size as they spin faster. I wonder if the correction factor is binary, or if it is an interpolated numbers between 0 and 250kmph.

I've coded several 981s and my 982 for rain sensor wipers. I did it with Maintenance of vehicle data (option 268):
From the Piwis Overview screen, press F7 for Additional Menu
Select Maintenance of Vehicle Data
Go forward until you reach M numbers
Scroll down the page to 268 Rain Sensor and tick the “Changed” box
Go forward to the last page and write the changes by pressing F8
Go back to the Overview Screen.
Press Ctrl+A to select all control modules
Go to Coding>Automatic Coding, and start. It takes 3-4 minutes
The snag is that if you have done any coding in Engineering mode, automatic coding will wipe it.

I wasn't sure how the "Kennlinie Geschwindigkeitskorrektur: Korrektufaktor Yx" multiplier worked, so I tried 106% initially but that made my speedo faster. (hit 20mph pulling out the driveway) so used 94.33% (28.3mph / 30mph = 0.9433) which resulted in a almost aligned GPS/ODBII/Speedometer reading.
In PIWIS the values you want to change are "Kennlinie Geschwindigkeitskorrektur: Korrektufaktor Yx". I don't know if you have to change Y1, 2 and 3, I tried all 3 and things seem to be fine now but I may update if I run into problems.
*and now I see Socal was just posting about this. I confirm his findings.

@edub, I'm running GT4 sizes on my GTS - 245/35, 295/30. I found setting y1 to 97% worked well but I needed to leave y2 @ ~ 100% to maintain accuracy at higher speeds. No point in changing y3 as that only affects speeds above 250 kph and on to 400 kph. I may tweak y2 once I have a chance to drive more at higher speeds. Now if only I could do the same tweak on my Audi which also reads high. I also have a VW Allltrack and it's speedo is very accurate.
In your case I'm guessing the correction factor will be linear because you adjusted y1,y2 and y3 to the same value. In my case non linear because I adjusted y1 to 97% and left y2 at 100%.

This is time consuming but you can choose Manual Coding for each module and see if the option is available. Once you figure out which module are affected you can try to find the individual settings to change or just Auto Code the modules affected.

Farewell to my fellow Cayman buddies here. I have met and made a lot of friends here. I sold my CGTS a couple days ago. I replaced it with a 2002 996 Turbo. I am starting a new journey in the 996 forum. PM me if you have any questions. Cheers

Hey @718socal what about us Boxster owners?! ..just kidding!. Congrats on the new ride! I'm very grateful for everything you have helped and taught me about coding my 718 Boxster!
There are many many 718 owners who have benefited from your extensive contributions as well as your direct assistance in many cases! I'm sure they're all grateful too! Hope you enjoy the new ride!! How about some pics?

Did you ever nail this one down? I assumed you'd be editing the original post with everything over time but I wasn't sure if Rennlist locks you out of access after a certain amount of time has passed. Dealer says it can't be done but didn't want to take their word for it.
*Edit: Oh wow just saw that you swapped cars. Congrats they're quite nice I say as someone in a 996 Turbo who just got into a GT4. Lots of character in those older cars.
