GT4 RS Allocation Thread

Well to be honest Im a bit torn. While I would like to have a 4RS or even more so the SRS I really really LOVE the GT4 especially give the MCS 2ways and line exhaust and ECU tune, etc... ive just settled in nicely to the GT4. I dont really enjoy the track that much so the added power of the RS is not super important. I could probably still finagle MSRP with a trade in and maybe buying the wife a 992.2 but it feels like a lot of work at this point. Im not into these cars to have a stable of them or make money or even try too breakeven... So a more likely scenario is I will just keep my GT4, continue complaining about the 4RS and then take a hard look at the GT4E when that comes out in 2027? Or just make the leap to GT3 or Turbo S but right now that seems like it would be a sad day on several levels just because the Cayman in any flavor is too much fun...

If you can really get a GT4rs for MSRP, it's a no brainer...

I wish it were that simple. Its a situation unique to my relationship to the dealer and SA. There would be work and hoops and favors and promises, etc... thats probably another reason I dont push it as Im happy to wait for things to cool down and make it easier on everyone including myself... I think with some patience supply and demand affecting ADMs should come back into balance. That said I dont think that anyone who has paid an ADM really regrets it especially for a special car they really want and get to enjoy and IF I really wanted a car and that was the deal at the time id probably pay it.

I thought my GT3RS was better than GT3 at the time, and hadn't heard of anyone going to 991.2 GT3RS back to 991.2 GT3 now I wish I would have gotten the 991.2 GT3 manual ( in same miami blue as my RS and with a wing)
I want so badly for Porsche to make a manual GT4RS, or someone that will swap it. It would be the best Porsche ever constructed in my eyes. Literally

For PDK I agree with you, but GT4 you can get manual.

FWIW... I could probably say that I would not be unhappy going 'down' the a Cayman GTS4.0 from the GT4 - as opposed to going 'up' to the 4RS. I think the GTS4.0 is the total sweet spot for the Cayman for most normal people especially if you need to drive one as a daily. The GT4 is probably just about at the limit as a daily IMO.

I did. Well I had and still have a manual 981 gt4. Found a MRSP 4RS and ended up borrowing a friends 4RS for a few days. I was excited 5 minutes in when i knew it wasn’t for me because it saved me a boat load of money. I didn’t find the car as raw and the pdk was the ultimate deal breaker for me. That cabin noise was excellent tho and I’d still like to add one at some point but for a 1 fun car garage I find the 981 to be the sweet spot.
