If you want the maximum grip for flat out driving assault and can stand the ride (or prefer the coupe), 4RS, if you want a more rounded player, still eminently capable and prefer the open-air feeling then the SRS.

For me there is no contest, I want a capable street car not a track focused warrior, so the Spyder RS.
I like the open spyder feel and looks and thats been my favorite porsche to date (even more so than turbo s and gt3). The 718 feels smaller and more intuitive to drive in my hands.

Perhaps pretty harsh on speedster and I’m no fan of its styling and ensconced in the 718 Spyder camp - a favourite of mine. But unfair to compare it to a SRS which is an auto box vs a “stick shift”. The magic is in the recipe for the speedster is that sublime engine with the 6 speed manual. A great “exiler. ”Don’t take it from me - as I’ve never driven one - but Jonny has more than a few times and “took a second sober look at it”. Great review.

If You must choose one 718 model + one 911 model, no 2*718 , no 2*911

1. GT3RS + Spyder RS
2. GT4RS + Speedster

Although I bought the SRS, I might choose the second combination.

In the Porsche world I own a 991.2 GT3 and her garage companion will be a Spyder RS.

I have no interest in any 992 GT car, and I deliberately choose my 991.2 GT3 over a 991 RS.

100% satisfied with this combination of 911 and 718 GT cars. I don’t plan to ever sell either car.

I’d say no.1 (whether the 3RS is 991 or 992); but…. you’d have no MT car.
A MT normal Spyder would suite better.

For now im pairing the spyder rs with a huracan tecnica. I think the 3rs or GT3 with a manual would pair well with the spyder but having the same engine seems redundant and im a sucker for the v10 powertrain. i cant drive a gt3 faster than a lambo on the street

Very very difficult to compare, different tyres, drivers, seasons, options on the cars (very light spec for the 4RS: mag wheels, no radio, no LEDs, no lift, race seat…).
Then how fresh where the Cup2s on the SRS?
That press cars has made plenty road tests since May…. still the original tyres on it?

At least 2.5 seconds are the in the tyres (Cup2s vs Cup2 Rs when both are new, 3.5 or more of the Cup2 was worn); I think the other seconds are the right result of all the above things plus the aero and the bigger rigidity of the coupè shell on the 4RS.

We can take this thread seriously off topic…. Lol.

Koizami is buying srs and opined he might rather have a 4rs. I have a 4rs and definitely prefer an srs. Grass is of course always greener…

No, if I could only choose one car without considering how other cars match, I would definitely choose SRS over 4RS. For me, SRS is a substitute for Speedster. In my country, it is impossible to get a Speedster, even if I could, the price would be exorbitant.
At least in my view, SRS and Speedster are considered in the same category of cars, even though one is PDK+MR and the other is manual+RR. Top down and coffee run.

The mid-engine platform is so much fun, capable too and with the Spyder and now the Spyder RS, I think they provide the best feel and enjoyment out there for use on public roads.

I will add that unlike a number of you posting in this thread, not all of us can afford or are interested in having multiple sports cars, so...

For the rest of us, we are only left with the task of deciding will it be the Spyder or the Spyder RS, personally I would be very happy with either!
