Thanks for your reply and I think that you may have the answer. Originally, I wasn't aware that these engines were equipped with the Adaptive Cylinder Control feature where 3 cylinders are shut off at times of low power needs. When I was driving my new GTS 4.0 home from the dealer, I had turned OFF the Auto Start/Stop Function when I was hearing these strange engine sounds. I will take my next drive with the Auto Start/Stop Function left ON and see if I still hear these strange engine sounds --- hopefully not!

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking now --- see my other post above. Thanks.

Default Ship mates on the GoodWood

Ahoy maties, I am on the Goodwood too. My build was not due to exit Emden until 8/13, but my vehicle managed to ship earlier on the Goodwood, which left port on 8/5. Very auspicious, as my last Porsche was also shipped out to me on the Goodwood too! However, as indicated in the multiple posts above, my SA likewise indicated that my vehicle will not be released to the dealer until 10/1, likely due to EPA/CARB. I guess my Porsche will sit at the port, subject to the wet seaport weather at Davisville. Can't wait to get the PPF done.

I have a 2022 Spyder, white, with black wheels arriving.

Signed papers and graduating from the waiting room. Thought that I would pass on some thoughts on ppf in the waiting room where it may be a consideration for some. I'm not advocating for or recommending against ppf, to each their own, but if you're in the waiting room and are interested in ppf, now would be a good time to line up your preferred installer. Here in Northern California, the queue time is generally 1-3 months for top notch ppf providers. The queue time surprised me a bit. Best wishes all.

LOL, Car was still going through PDI at dealership and then off to PPF less than 1 mile away. Hope to get some proper staged photos post PPF.
Triple black with interior leather trim option which I had not seen on another car before ordering but am ecstatic with the results.

PDI in progress.

Happy with leather trim option.

Congrats on taking delivery!

Thought I read that you should let the paint/clearcoat cure for a month or so before PPF.

Shipping takes a month. PPF is a factory option on the 911 and Porsche installs it at the port in the destination country.

Not in a new car. The paint is baked on. Aftermarket paint job, maybe.

[QUOTE=AdamIsAdam;17530212]This is very comforting to read. I agree with everything you said except #1, as I only want a manual because this is a toy, not a dedicated track car. I would add to your comment about weight, that I prefer a smaller car.

My biggest concern is that I will feel let down on the power. I was not happy with my 996's power and really didn't like the light front end's steering. Hopefully the GTS will check all the right boxes.

And if not, I suppose I could always sell it.[/QUOTETa

I think your last sentence is a real key for
me. I hope the GT4 is the ownership experience that I have dreamed of for many years. But if it’s not it’s one of the few cars you can get out of without getting hurt to bad by depreciation. I’m going Manual. I got the DCT in my M2 and it’s great but for me it’s the car I drive when I just want to enjoy driving. With the DCT I feel
like I am missing out on part of the experience.
