I don't think the power is the correct measurement here, but rather a power-to-weight ratio as the Camero is significantly heavier.
But overall, those are two completely different beasts and I don't think one can flame someone for preferring one over the other.
Personally, I don't really care about power - I want a lightweight, manual, naturally-aspirated, tiny sports car, the smaller the better, without sacrificing too much seat comfort (that's why I couldn't just stick with the ND2 Miata).

Congrats on the Camaro! They do look super mean in ZL1 trim, and I’ve met some cool folks that track them regularly as well, with very fast times. Enjoy in good health!

Not crazy at all. You are buying something that speaks to you more. I considered a Camaro ZL1 as well before settling on the GT4. More power, insanely good track vehicle, very aggressive looks. And half the price. I still went for the GT4 as ive never been much of an American car guy but it was a strong contender for a while. And surprisingly its a bit more of a sleeper than the GT4 is.

Personally though, i do feel like the GTS is very much worth the price its at. But for a different reason. The Camaro is going to be faster in a straight line, and it's going to outperform it at the track. However the interior quality fit and finish of the Porsche with how the car feels when you rev it out. The NA flat 6 is honestly such a joy to drive and there is a big feeling of refinement that you don't really get in lower priced vehicles.

It will lock... I've found TYD is delayed by a few days. It's going to happen though.
I don't think it will lock mid day. It will be overnight or early morning.

Does anyone have a recent shipping schedule for Emden?
I'm looking for which vessels are leaving Emden now or soon headed to Jacksonville.
The Volkswagen Export Schedule is still stuck on week 7...

So mine has been completed, and has been waiting to be inspected since 3/22. I'm just here to vent I guess. The driving season as already started, and yet I'm still without my dream.

Quick question for those with experience with this. I will be trading in a 2011 Panamera 4S with appx. 90,000 miles (I will miss that NA V8, but I consider the 4.0 H6 an upgrade so I'm ok with that). I just got an alert that I need new brake pads - aside from the obvious safety implications, should I get them replaced knowing that the $1,000 or so that it will cost me is going straight to the dealer's benefit without me getting compensated for it ? I won't be driving it much (if at all) until I trade it in May given travel plans etc...

^^ if you are trading it in to the dealership I would not replace the pads. That will not change the value of the car and new pads to the dealership is barely any cost to them.

I agree with you 100% on the power to weight ratio, drove a Cayman GTS 6MT and it was plenty fast for street driving , not as much as Camaro but still good enough

The major deciding factor is the GTS front end look , i dont like that tame look, not aggressive enough. if it was a GT4 look i would have gone for the lighter porsche
The price difference is 35K , thats also a significant factor, just my 2 cents the GTS is not worth 100K plus , if it was in 80's would have still gone for the porsche
