Add Python Green to that list.

Woah! That’s disappointing, how are colors being on stop order is beyond me. There will be an entire generation of vehicles where the owner was not able to spec exactly what they wanted. Quite unfortunate

I'd say so. Just got my Cayman GTS 4.0 allocation two weeks ago, and I had to change my build from Python Green to something else (and was told at that time it couldn't be Aventurine Green either). I went with Shark Blue instead, and my wife likes that color better anyway. Expecting a May build & June delivery.

Seems like python green is a new thing. So if your GT4 was delivered, I would guess your lock date was months prior, you would have been well within the window to get it. However, if your car has not locked aka putting an order in now, this would be affected.

Shark blue is a fantastic color and would have been my backup after Python as well!

My order locked on the 7th, but I made a change on the 8th to get the bucket seats. I now feel super lucky to have just squeezed in a Python GT4 with buckets. My production is supposed to start next week.

For those awaiting their new family member via the Clovis Sunrise, the ship is 8 days out from the Panama Canal. My SA contacted me over the weekend to inform me that everything is on schedule and that my car will arrive at the dealer on 4/21. There is still so much to do to get the garage ready. My wife says I'm nesting... haha...

Finally some movement!
My delivery date moved from 5/23 back in to 4/23!! NEXT MONTH!! Obviously there can be some delays but this is exciting!
It had been sitting in stage 4 since 3/6... I'm guessing waiting on a part. Hopefully no big delays at port.

I cannot wait to see this color in person!

I am amazed at the self control and willpower of some of you.

My dealer called me late one morning (easily a week ahead of schedule) to tell me, "Your car is here! They're pulling it off the truck now!" I dropped everything and ran. Service told sales, "No time for PDI's for a few days"... so my buddy (sales manager) drove me out to the back lot where the car was sitting after coming off the truck, tossed me the key and said, "If you pull it into the service drive like a regular service customer they will probably find a way to get your PDI done today." So that's exactly what I did. I even peeled off all the film and protective stuff while there in the bay to save them time. Took official delivery a few hours later

No WAY I was going to wait "a few days" for PDI. And NO WAY IN HELL I'd have the willpower to wait a few MORE days for ceramic and PPF. I drove the car a week, hit my break-in 1000 miles, then dropped it off for PPF while I went out of town.

😂 Oh, trust me this is killing me! In my defense I’m 4 hours and a mountain pass away from my ‘local’ dealer. Weather would’ve delayed delivery either way. I’m getting by just barely with a few glamour pix from my sales guy. Your approach is more what I’d have done if I were actually local to my dealer. I like your style.

Wait, I thought manual states 2,000 miles…? I like your number way more.

Yeah at the time I was about 25 minutes away. Definitely helpful.

I've since moved 800 miles south. I have a Macan GTS coming (bought from my usual dealer), right now it's somewhere between the Baltimore port and the dealer. I already have my flight booked but if he calls me today and says "It's here!" you can be damned sure I'll be looking up change fees. Actually.... I'm gonna go look up change fees....

I followed the Andreas Preuninger method. From memory it's something like 5000rpm max for first 300 miles, then add 500rpm for every 125 miles thereafter. Then I changed the oil.

Advantage to this method, IMO - it helps you really appreciate how strong the midrange really is with this 4.0L motor. Because if the first thing you do is blast to 8000rpm, the midrange feels soft by comparison to the frantic charge over 6000. But if you only stay in the low/mid... it feels really good. Over 6000 it just feels GREAT.
