Outta here. Picked my BGTS4.0 yesterday. Cars looks amazing. Did not win the steering column lottery - indeed it came with manual adjustment, not power, which is a bummer but I will live (I got the $500 voucher, and some people reported that despite getting it they still received electric adjustment). On the bright side, one thing less to break down the line.

The plastic trim behind seats had the usual greasy Bratwurst fingerprints. Luckily they came off using Meguiars Vinyl cleaner.

They allowed me to ‘unwrapped’ it before PDI, feeling so good peeling off the wraps

I thought all 718s are delivered without electric steering column?

The dealer I bought the car promised that to me, but then it did not happen. Pretty ****ty experience overall in other regards. But I guess I got the car "only" for MSRP, and they made it as if they were making me a great favor selling the car.

Some 2022s were delivered with electric column adjustment even as late as May/June I think, but it was hit or miss. Apparently this option is kaput for 2023.

It's a bummer as it would make the "comfort entry" much better, and also would make switching between two drivers easier. I share cars with my wife on road trips.

Oh I know the MY23 inconvenience well...I just got a MY23 allocation and not having LEDs + no electric steering column was annoying to say the least. But hopefully when I get the car it will be quickly forgotten.

Do I get to join officially the waiting room when I put in an order with a deposit? Or do I have to wait until I get an allocation?

this thread is mostly for those with an actual allocation as well as an estimated delivery date. And by estimated, meaning you can see a specific date on Track Your Dream. There are plenty of people on waitlists but they will never actually get the car.

That being said, hope you do get the allocation! Good luck!

The car got into Benicia and according to the dealer's screen has been waiting for almost 5 days in the "Ready for Transportation" state. My dealer is approximately 1 day's truck form the port, so I'm getting somewhat impatient. I wish TYD was more up-to-date about this last part. It still says "Port Processing".
