315/30 won't fit according the my alignment guy who measure current clearance with 295/35 and then adding the width difference. 305 will clear my exhaust system but definitely no way to get a 315 in rear. To be honest 265/305 is better grip my .2 GT3 since we are mid-engine. Just need better suspension to keep with the velocity in the corners from high speeds with this much tire on the ground.

Default 718 GT4, Stock Engine, TPC Toe-Links, Akrapovic OAP.

Finally broke the 2:40 at this weekends Northwoods Shelby Club event, new personal best is 2:38.36. What a weather PITA. Hot and Dry everywhere else in the US but here in Great Lakes area of the MidWest.

Noticed the Dunlop Sport Race Maxx 2 really drop off after getting up to temp. I'm targeting 33F/36R psi and usually getting there by lap 2. Generally my quickest times are within the first 4 laps. Alignment is Camber F -1.65/0.3mm per toe-in; Camber R: -1.5/1.0mm toe-in per.

You and me both. I get frustrated on the track bc I know I'm leaving so much on the table. Any epiphanies you've come across recently you'd like to share?

LOL will do - still learning the trust limits of the car but there is definitely a lot more corner speed left and can now comfortably trail brake a little for later braking.

Nicely done

A few weeks ago I ran at 31/33 hot and they were pretty good for about 5 hard laps before getting slippery.

Thanks @porscheflat6 , I’ll target that for my next outing over Labor Day weekend with the PCA.

very nice. Its a lot to that track. I also have the old 911 driving style. Have been working on not over braking and trying to carry more corner speed.
are you have with your alignment settings?

@clib I’m heading to the dealer to replace a corded drivers side rear and fluid service (oil/brake) later this week. Ordered some shims from CMS, so going to add about 6mm in shims to get me closer to -2.0 Camber front and rear; then set the front toe-in closer to 0, and rear toe to 2.0mm tow-in per.

I think that will about do it. Moving forward I want to focus on consistency, and less with the ultimate time.

might want to consider the swift springs and DSC module as well. Significant suspension performance improvement.

Great suggestions @porscheflat6 . First for next year is a set of dedicated 19” APEX wheels for the track. Then I like your idea. Going to budget for both.

I clocked 10,000 miles this weekend as I arrived at Road America. 9,000 of those miles over the last 10 months have been B-roads, leaving a 1,000 miles on the track. So clearly a 90/10 ratio.

I’ve not seen anyone bust 2:30 at Road America in a GT4 without significant track mods. At 2:38, I know there are a few seconds in technique alone, and I want to find those before spending too much more on mods.

I really love this car.

Awesome! Way to rack up the miles! Yep just got my APEX and very pleased. I have been using Forgeline for 8 years and they one of the best but so far for the money I don't think we can beat Apex value and quality. All honesty, Suspension, brakes and tires the car can really compete with GT3's. I am quite pleased coming from a 3RS to GT4 how much fun I am having trying to get my GT4 between stock GT3 on Hoosier and my 3RS which was just a monster of a track car.

My feelings exactly. I'm too ginger with this thing in the corners.

Me too and I drive it like a 911 but that is all I know for the past 8 years. The car is incredibly fast in the corners and just need to develop a bit more trust which for me is just some seat time.
