You're on the right path. A052s are primarily autocross tires, so they heat up quickly but then overheat at the track. Most of my RE-71R customers are running the Supercar 3s and liking them at the track, but they do take longer to heat up for autox. Conversely, no one's been having to spray them down yet, either—but the temps have still been cool around here. I haven't gotten anyone to try the RT660s yet.
I have a set of Nankang AR-1s on 19" wheels for my GT4 that I should be able to run at Thunderhill on May 22. Lots of good track reports on these, but no personal experience yet. (Also keep an eye on their 200 UTQG CR-1s that they're rolling out.)

So with time trials you can run a tire like the A052 and get away with it, because you usually only get two laps to set your time, before you hit traffic. S1 winner last year ran A052. Just don't think I prefer to go that route.

They definitely need to be sprayed at autocross. Had a buddy running them last year. No co-driver. But it was also routinely 90+ degrees with ungodly humidity. All tires need to be sprayed in those autocross conditions. The A052 just handles it worse than others, even if sprayed.

Good feedback on the Supercar 3s—thanks!
@ced357 Even though I sell tires for a living, Nankangs aren't available through my wholesalers, so I bought mine (and had them heat cycled) from Phil's Tire Service.

If you do not need the rain channeling of a PS4S, they are a much better option that keeps the high performance nature of the GT4 intact.

I'm not a big Goodyear fan, but on occasion they hit one out of the park. It's looking like the Supercar 3's might be one of those home runs.

Chilly weekend with the Northwoods Shelby Club. Serious group of guys running all makes and mods. Very respectful passing with a point, and we had generous passing locations which IMO helped (basically anywhere except a turn). Drivers didn’t need to push a pass or get impatient.
First run of the season on a chilly day, but was able to get a new best of 2:45.75. Made some alignment changes: F 1.65 Camber/0.3mm Toe, R 1.55 Camber 1.0mm Toe. That helped a bunch with turn-in and greatly reduce tail wiggle on high speed braking.
Slightly different view with a GoPro4 Silver mounted in the harness bar. These C8 Vettes are fast in a straight line. Same goes for the Mustang (GT 500) and Camero (Z), but they seem to have a harder time running all out for a 20 minute session.

Nice run!!
Did the toe links take care of 100% of the rear-end wag movement?

how you liking those GYSC3R?

I like the SC3R.
consistent through the entire session; don't go off when they get hot
not great cold
available in the size I wanted
they don't last very long though
and I don't have anything to compare them too - car is new to me and I've never run any other tire (in the two events I've done so far)

19" Forgelines with 265/285 Bridgestone RE71R
Camber plates, toe links
Akrapovic link pipes
DBJ rear wing
Ferodo DS3.12 pads
AIM SOLO rounds on screen, but a 28 looks much better, so here is the full data snip.
