LOVE the way mine sounds with just the Soul OAPs on there, everything else stock. Sounds like a refined sports car, just what I wanted. Nice crackles when on/off the gas at each shift. Minor drone with valves open at around 3500-4000 RPM, easily quieted by closing valves. Sounds badass without being obnoxious as a street car.
Metalone, so far that sounds great. Are you running a Spyder or GT4? I've heard many guys with the Spyder don't have the cabin that can mess with acoustics which is a big benefit for them with the top down vs the top up....vs the GT4/GTS. I'm anxious to hear more sound clips as the exhaust beds in and breaks in!
Does anyone know if there is any real power to be gained using street legal 200-cell catted headers?
Power aside you will enjoy an increase in throttle response - the engine will be much more responsive to your input under any condition. Your "butt dyno" might not notice an extra increase in horsepower sometimes but the enhanced driving sensation is a benefit in its own right.

I've just installed the Cargraphict Racing Xpipe with the Akrapovic OAP.
I've only driven from the dealer back to home so this is just the first thought about it.
My aim was a high pitch sound at higher RPM and this is exactly the result even after reaching only 6000 rpm this sound amazing ... pretty much as seen in the video of @Sausage416 ... so currently I'm loving this .
The only odd thing for the moment is hearing the valves closing at around 2000Rpm just when the sound start to picking an aggressive tone. When valves are closed this exhaust is very very quiet, pretty much like stock, so this closing transition between 2000-4000 is very noticeable and I have to do more miles to determine if this is just clever to avoid drone or is something to address... I will report later .
Finally Oscar!! WOOO WEEEEEE! If you want to add a valve controller we can get you set up. Looking fwd to more feedback once you have some more time int he car.

Yeah!, finally!... I hope been able ripping backroads on the weekend and listen this baby @8K !! (in Chile we are in a second wave peak right now and entering in a new confinment process.. again!). I've actually installed a faulty CF valve unit (was used) so I'm hesitant to install a new unit now, I might send you a PM for help to clear out the issue I had... all depends if this odd transition start to bug me, until now was just weird, mainly because on closed valves this exhaust es very quiet, which was exactly what I was looking for, something with double personalty

It's an Spyder.. and yeah, the open top brings a whole different experience (but you also have the Boxster GTS 4.0 option)... as some others have also commented, with top up you can hear a lot of induction noise thanks to the sound symphoser (also on the GT4), so actually I have the felling that many would choose valves closed with top up and valves opened with top down.

Due to EU regulations ... the removal of OPF does not even need to be considered. I don't want to see my car seized. And if another change should be considered it will be Cargraphic xpipe
I would recommend you first try to disconnect the valves to make sure you would like the sound with valves always opened. I mention this because installing the controller isn't as easy as the vendors advertise, and always there's a risk of breaking something doing this. But you can disconnect the valves in a breeze. If you will have the GPF/OPF installed can create raspy sounds that you may not like around that RPM and if you don't have them like me you can have drone when cruising, so it's a good idea try first disconnecting and try it for a while.
Today I had my first proper drive in some low traffic backroads, and I must say I really love the final result:
The signature is a high pitched wail above 4000RPM, so if you are looking for a high pitch scream rather than dark tone you cannot go wrong with this one.
Burbles are audible now!!, in less quantity than the 981 gen, but they are there on the overrun and by touching the throttle. More rare are the up-shifts barks, but when they happen OMG they sound epic!! this will put an instant smile on your face. This kind of barks weren't featured on the 981, so it's a very nice novelty.
HP increase?, of course!! but because of all the extra excitement!! and that's what really matters IMO.
OEM valves closing interfering? Maybe... I'm curious to hear it with valves disconnected, but I'm not feeling it's really necessary either.
What's the setup? Akrapovic OAP + Carpgraphic Racing Xpipe (OEM Headers & OEM valves controller)
Quiet on PSE OFF?, Almost as quiet as stock, so this can be wild or civilised at your will.
Drone?, haven't heard it, or at least not with the OEM valve controller.
I knew that mixing different brand components could've been risky, so I'm really glad that all the research really paid off an the sound succeed my expectations. I also think that this setup could be one of the best for the money.
So what's not to love?, If you push me really hard and I'm being very nitpicking, I would say that if you are holding at around 5K RPM steady without accelerating, you might hear a high pitched resonation that may bother some people, but again this is being really nitpicking and I also have the suspicious that the OEM valve could be playing a role on this... we'll see... but seriously if you will be bothered with something like this you should stay with the stock setup.
Sorry for the amateur video, but at least I tried:

Thanks for the advice, i will try this.
By the way, nice video, your setup sounds really good !

Be sure of plugging the hoses with something after you disconnect them... using 6 mm grub screws worked well for me when I first tried it with the OEM exhaust.
I just installed Soul OAP's and unplugged the valves.
Overall I think the sound is an improvement but I didn't like the valves being open all the time, a bit too loud and some drone driving around town so I plugged them back in. I can always hit the valve switch to open them up when wanted.
I really think a muffler set up with a X-pipe would make an improvement. I still hear what sounds like a 4 cylinder motor inside the car, but an improvement over stock setup
