Has anyone found an exhaust solution they absolutely love?

Before you go about that big genetalia mod, just remember those factory OAPs are over 3k per side when we checked during our exhaust development. You'd probably get more than the cost of a new set of aftermarket OAPs if you were to sell them used or simply bring them to a scrap yard, cost of precious metals are waaaay up.

Yeah, the stock OAP are expensive, but they are much more than just piping. I do agree that is it gouging, and somehow because the car you are putting in on has a Porsche badge, makes it justified? $2K is a full aftermarket exhaust system on some cars.
A rear section, I could see as there is a lot more involved with that because of the muffler, but just some straight piping, come on now.

No, the 718 GTS/GT4/Spyder does not have engine sound through a speaker.
See the first post in the thread below for all the information you need.

Also, the sound symposer is not new in the 718. The 981 GTS also had the sound symposer.

Looking at other cat delete pipes and such for other Lambo, Aston, Ferrari models, they are around $700-1200

FWIW I paid $1200 plus 20% VAT for a pair of Supersprint OAPs. Excellent quality, made in Italy. They've since raised prices a bit however but I wouldn't say that you could expect a good quality pair of these pipes for much less than that.

Doubt those are exactly comparable in terms of length, materials or complexity but sure OAPs are a bit on the expensive side. But there's two per car. 15 years ago I was already paying $600 for a single catless downpipe for my Volvo 850 Turbo. Multiply by two and add inflation...

The 981 GTS has the same sound symposer found in the 718 GTS/GT4/Spyder. See parts 9 and 10 in the attached 981 parts diagram.

You are thinking of the Soundaktor in the four cylinder 718s. In the earlier cars you could take off the driver side rear panel in the trunk and unplug the Soundaktor unit. In the later cars it was re-positioned to the center of the car, and harder to access. However, all you had to do was pull the passenger side rear panel in the trunk and take out the 7.5amp fuse. It is the only 7.5amp fuse in the rear fuse panel, and only controlled the Soundaktor unit.

And just to finish this out here is what I pulled out of the Spyder:

Glad that you love your exhaust!
But no drone at all huh, you could help all of us by producing an in car audio/video with valves open rolling on the throttle slowly in 3rd or 4th gear from 1500rpm to 3000 RPM so we can hear it. By slowly I mean taking about 30 seconds to cover that RPM. What do you think, possible?
I think that the big problem would still be the ability for an in car video to pick up and record the drone.

Cool, thanks for sharing, no video but the audio works perfectly!
Please understand my next comment is an observation of what I hear and call drone... I hear drone from 1-3 seconds and then again 5-7 seconds, that low pitched sound... some of the same from 15-19 seconds, exactly the same thing that I hear at certain RPM's in my Spyder.
I am positive that this is the sound others are talking about and is driving some of them nuts!

Thanks for the sound clips and appreciate you taking the time.
TBH, I don't hear anything that is boring me during those few seconds you highlighted, maybe it will be different when I hear it in real life......until my car arrives I am not going to worry about it....

I still say my bone stock 2015 Boxster GTS is the best sounding car I will ever own.

WIth that said, I think one of the complaints of this car in that RPM range is the stock BWOMP sound that I think aftermarket exhaust bits might help. Anyway, I will keep listening to the clip and see if I can hear it.

At an autocross event a couple of months ago my vacuum line came loose (after exhaust install). Sweet baby cheeses, it was unbearable drone. Not bad on course with the windows down, but the drive home, and the drive to my indy the next day was godawful.
