Never park next to a guy getting cat litter - they're door dingers.

And definitely don't tailgate the guy getting cat litter. A handful of cat litter out the window keeps the tailgaters away.

SpeedySpidey,

I have that Heavy-Duty extension cord and it does work nicely when needed.

I could have had Nick run the CTEK charger cord to that location.
In my case I prefer the location in the picture for my use.
It doesn't bother me if the Frunk is open as my garage has an independent HVAC Carrier Split-Unit for both Cooling & Heat plus Humidity control.
Walking out to the garage is actually like being in the house according to where I set the Automatic temperature at.
I can actually detail the GT4 in Mid-Winter if I wish.

Terry
Would there be any issues with plugging the CTEK into one of the two 12 volt receptacles inside the car?

Treemagnet,

This is an (Opinion) .................

It seems to me on other members comments they did plug into one of the 12-volt receptacles in the GT4.

If doing that I would think just leave one of the windows either all the way down or at least partially down.

As I think more about your question I'm pretty sure that can be done.

Note*
If you wanted to know for a FACT I'd place a call to the manufacturer and just ask one of their representatives.
You can bet they know ..............

Thanks!

I've been using a CTEK MXS 5.0 this way for the past 4 years, opening the window enough to fit the cord through without compressing the passenger side window seal. Figured it would be okay, just wasn't certain that method was permitted with Lithium Ion Batteries....eventually needed to know, since I plan to go lithium after our OEM battery bites the dust in 3 to 4 years. Of course, realizing I'll also have to source the CTEK Lithium charger.

Treemagnet,

Well things do change so much with time who knows what will be around 3 to 4 years from now.

I'm glad I did the Antigravity Lithium battery and would do it again.

Sad thing about a lot of Sports cars the stock battery goes down Way-way-way to (QUICKLY)

Smile Latest news on my Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 ...........

Greetings,

To those that follow this thread here is the latest as of this afternoon.

Cathy (Wife) followed me to Chris Marlin's detail shop in Murfreesboro, TN. to drop off my "Racing-Yellow" GT4 with the nickname, The-Stealth-Machine"

I am having Chris do a complete (inside & Out) professional detail.
It's now been over a year and like 7,500 miles since he has had it in his shop.
It's time for a complete Refresh guys and get it back to the way it was when I picked-it up from PON (Porsche of Nashville).

Some pictures Chris sent me and some Cathy took when we dropped it off.

I'm looking forward to picking it back up after Chris does his thing.

Hi Jim,

When I go pick it back-up I'll make it a point to tell Chris you said HELLO.

One thing I did add to doing the complete exterior was to get Chris to also treat the interior for protection.

Smile Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 detailing "Exterior & Interior" after 2 years ...

Greetings guys,

Well not much to say really but ...............
My 2021 GT4 is now 2-Years old and plus 7,000 miles was definitely time for a Complete Detailing for "Exterior & Interior".
I have used Chris Marlin multiple times and every-time he has went Way-way beyond what one would expect with his work.

This time Chris calls what he did as Maintenance but to me a layman I call it a Top-Notch-Full-Blown DETAIL.

I don't honestly recall everything Chris told me he did but I can recall some of what he did.
My terminology SUCKS guys on exactly what the proper terms are that he did so just bare with me.
He Clayed the complete exterior.
He then Lightly Buffed/Sanded the complete exterior to get rid of all build up on the painted-surface even under the rear-wing.
Once he was totally satisfied that the surface was once again like Glass to the Finger-Tips that ^^^ was finished to his Satisfaction.
Chris also told me that he found some New Lower GT4 Decals that in his opinion were more AGGRESSIVE looking than what I currently have.
So, he placed that order and the New ones came from Europe.
He then applied the Gtechniq EXOv5 ceramic coating that is a Brand-New-Product to the full exterior.
Then he moved to the interior and as I said above I don't recall the name of all the products he used on the interior.
Anyway, the interior smells Brand-New now when I picked it up to bring it home.
The interior looks Show-Room NEW guys he Threw-Down on it as he did to the Exterior.
I do want to mention that he had the same guy, (Randy) that is next door and owns TINT WORKS to apply the New Lower Black Decals.
They ^^^ look like they came from the Porsche Factory !!!

Of course I took pictures but truthfully they don't do JUSTICE to the GT4 it deserves to show all the Effort/Work Chris Marlin did.

Lastly,
My GT4 now looks just like it did when I took possession of it 2-Years ago from PON.

Left (Chris) and on the (right) Cathy (Wife).

And below is Randy that did the PPF and of course the older GT4 Decals as well as the New GT4 Decals.

And below the GT4 in "Racing-Yellow" has arrived back home.

Current mileage after 2-Years ..................

Thanks for dropping by guys,
Terry

OK...FWIW...and if I may please add some perspective here...If I were looking for a used GT4...and if Terry's GT4 was up for sale, which it's NOT, at least that I'm aware of, I would RUN, NOT WALK to buy Terry's "STEALTH GT4" as it's known in the Middle Tennessee area. I consider myself a meticulous car-detailing NUT. That said, Terry puts me TO SHAME regarding the care for his car.

We've all heard the term "BETTER THAN NEW." If there's such a car...you're looking at it right here.

Jim Dillard,

Seriously, thanks for the kind words they are appreciated.

Since IMHO this GT4 will be my last True Sports Car I am trying to keep it as new as possible.
Chris Marlin is a professional and his work/professional work-ethics so remind me of Nick (Porsche of Nashville) Shop Foreman we both have used multiple times.
Both those guys ^^^ we are so fortunate to have local to us.
Chris Marlin is only like 40-minutes from me.
And PON is maybe like 20-minutes from me.

I don't think I mentioned in my earlier post about driving it once again after the Full-Blown-Detail.

So, guys, the GT4 is so Quick it leaves everything so far behind from a stop-light.
I have sorta forgot just how darn quick it really is.
And the SOUL "rear-valved-exhaust", SOUL Ceramic OAP plus SOUL sound-symposer-delete is just AWESOME.
I do have the Cargraphics Valve Controller ................
I run the Cargraphics Valve Controller 99% of the time OPEN.
Also, I did a few times run the RPM up to say 5-6 thousand RPM and that's when all HELL breaks-loose for it to sound like a Super-Bad-*** Sports Car.
I know a lot of Rennlist members love their Manual 6-Speed Machines as I did many years ago.
But, I'm saying for me the Porsche with the PDK 7-Speed tranny is KILLER !!!

Below is a pretty good side image of the GT4 in the garage.
