New update as of today with estimated delivery date back to 12/4..... :-( Hopefully they get the whole emissions thing sorted soon.

Well if we have to wait on the EPA at that time of the year it should not be 100 degrees on the dock alternating with thunderstorms (I am thinking Houston) Ditto on hoping the emissions deal gets sorted out soon...

Can someone enlighten me on what would be time consuming on the EPA cert since it’s not a new model or engine just a new model year?

I don’t know about rhe other ports, but cars at Houston are stored in a warehouse...so no poop; however still hurricane season so there’s that.

I imagine it’s because they have added the PDK to the mix. Those are definitely recalibrated and maybe it was easier to embargo the entire MY than pick out the new vs. the old or everything got a new calibration, to some degree. And I don’t think it’s that they are waiting for certification as much as they applied for certification with an effective date. In my mind I think it’s actually no earlier than 12/04 so it could even slip if there is a hiccup in the process.

I also don’t think they will be held within the port as that’s a restricted area, they may get moved to a bonded facility or even shipped to the dealers with a do not sell embargo. That’s pretty easy to do, they just withhold the MSO’s.

This thread along with the reality of the delay, along with the impending winter weather forthcoming, is just exasperating... I’m going nuts over this.

Port of Benicia is exposed to the elements... AND poop. Look at all those parking spots!

That makes sense. I had one of the launch Macans in 15 and it came to the dealer early, like you said they couldn’t sell it until the official release day. Anything done by the government takes 2x as long as it should. I’m expecting 12/4, I just want the weather to be nice enough where I can get it from the dealer to my house!

Does anyone know what ports Porsche uses? I’ve seen CA and TX here but what about the SE coast?

Never mind, a bit of searching and I was able to determine mine will be coming to Jacksonville.

If it goes to my dealer, at least I'll have visitation rights, and they'll probably put it in their showroom....

Based on some further reading they won’t ship to the dealer until the epa certification is complete. I was basing what I said on how domestic vehicles get held. Imports are different.
