chances of a car exiting its port of entry on the same day it arrived independent of any external circumstances is *zero* ... cars have to be offloaded, clear customs, and undergo inspection then scheduled for transport ... that *never* happens same day.
Also note, that there will be a backlog of cars in all these ports of entry awaiting EPA certification, so *even* when such is obtained, there will be a resulting delay in transporting this backlog from the ports to the dealers ...
net/net what the PS&VMS says is simply not an accurate and reliable reflection of the current reality...
best to monitor the EPA/CARB sites for model certification notifications to indicate the release of these cars for delivery
You may be 100% correct. All I know is that every "V" date I have been given has been moved up, makes me optimistic....
they don't count - its down to U.S Customs and the EPA ... the only date that is relevant is when the car will be released for transport, and that wont happen until the MY21 models obtain CARB/EPA certification and this is communicated to customs at the port of entry releasing the hold on the cars, at which time they will be eligible for transportation to their respective dealerships...
just trying to set people's realistic expectations ... YMMV
Oh, yes I understand I was just pleasantly surprised that the 12/4 date had changed, this print out was done a few hours ago. I have had 2 previous print outs and the planned & expected date was always 12/4. Now Porsche gives the planned date as 12/4 as it has always been but the expected date has been moved forward. In my little heart of hearts I like to think Porsche knows something. Too optimistic? Perhaps, time will tell....
Best,
Pat
FWIW my salesman told me yesterday mine was already on the boat (a couple of weeks early from what was estimated when I ordered) and that it should be here by the second week of November if not sooner. I think he's new though, so he may not understand the possibility of it being held up at the port.

There should be a batch of 21’s sitting at Davisville for about a week now. Mine gets to Houston tomorrow but with the 992’s being held until at least 11/6 nothing will get done before then. I’m just hoping the 12/4 date sticks at this point. There will be a backlog of cars to transport once they are released from port so hopefully that doesn’t cause any further delays.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes to clear them out as 12/4 approaches. I guess I'm thankful I'm 12/25 expected at dealer, but I will be bummed if there are shipping delays, especially if it hits the port earlier than planned.

Imagine the November and December 2021 sales numbers they will be reporting against from 2020? That could leave a mark.

obviously he's not in the loop - since dealers have been informed of the delays ... obivously he was busy selling another Macan from the lot when the sales mtg occurred.
its pathetic how poor Porsche SA's are these days...
