No, he didn’t, I’m asking about that.

I got an update from my SA and my car is now V260 (entered body shop).

I also heard the same story as others that the 12/4 hold is for Carb certification. So I decided to go look into that. Here is the cert for the 2020 Spyder and GT4. It states only manual transmission.

https://ww3.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onroad...4d0_u3-125.pdf

So, sure enough if I look at the 2021 models there are no entries for Porsche yet. The CARB site is going through a change and the new models should show up on this spreadsheet. We can watch here for the 2021 GTS and GT PDKs in that spreadsheet. I am not knowledgeable enough to know if 2021 manual transmission GT cars can use the 2020 certification or if every model year needs a new cert. Either way, the PDK and GTS models are new and will need a new cert.

https://ww2.arb.ca.gov/new-vehicle-a...ecutive-orders

You'll want the New or 2021 PC (passenger car) spreadsheet.

On separate topic, I've been watching the ships too. The Mediterranean Highway was supposed to be in Emden on the 18th/19th but is running a little behind. It now shows that it will hit port on the 20th.

Since my car is just going into the body shop - unless there is a big delay in the notification system - I doubt I will make this ship. I will 99% likely to go onto the Siem Cicero that is just off the Florida Keys on the way to Jacksonville and not due into Emden until Oct 5/6th.

I have to say, it is amazing what you can find on the internet with a few google searches....

FWIW, Greg_STL, my car went into the body shop on the 10th and was completed on the 16th. We will likely be on the same boat I’d imagine, unless the high tailed mine to the port for the Mediterranean Highway. Guess I’ll need to check back with my SA to see if the Emden dates got moved up on my car.

When did you last check? The factory apparently closes for most of, if not all of August. If it went into the body shop right before that, that would explain it. In my case, my US car went in and was completed 9 days earlier than what was originally expected, so it would seem weird that a car would be sitting for a month in the body shop. At a minimum, a damaged body would probably be replaced by a new one. But that’s just a guess.

See if they can screen print the screen that Greg_STL posted for his car and send that to you to verify what they’re saying.

Mine is a 2021 GT4 with PDK and went into the body shop on 9/10, and was completed on 9/16.

Great news! What’s your build look like? Wondering if there’s any options/paint that would extend the time in the body shop?

Here's the code - http://www.porsche-code.com/PMHIZG19

Python Green with Satin Aurum wheels.

And yeah, color is what I'm wondering about for the couple of people in the body shop purgatory. I can't imagine there is much else that happens there except painting.

Yeah, it’s my guess that they’re waiting to batch a bunch of Python Green’s...

Nice build! The only big difference between ours is color, mine is Chalk, and leather interior.

No, mine is Python and was into the body shop on the 10th, and build completed on the 16th.

I'll check with my SA again on Friday with hopes that either he'll be able to tell me, or I can deduce which boat it will be on. The leaders right now are Glovis Sonic, Glovis Crown, and Silver Ray.

this is not the 1st time cars have been held in this fashion...

Over on the 992 side, they're dealing with emissions certification dates floating around for the 2021. It's entirely reasonable to think our 12/4 date could be the same thing. I'm just trying to prepare myself that there is a chance that some of us may get our cars earlier than that. Definitely not holding up any hope of that, and for all we know, it could be even longer. Time will tell for sure.
